Comment:
Scott was an excellent professor. Lectures were very entertaining. I didn't have a problem with his swearing (though I understand why that would upset someone). Labs were easy and a mark booster and I thought the TAs (with the exception of one) were quite helpful. Tests were easy if you studied and the hands-on days were helpful for tests.

I am really upset with professor Bell, first off he swears way to much in class.. it's not humurous it's actually cocky and very unprofessional. He goes off in tangents that leave you so confused you just want to die. The concepts are easy, but for some reason he makes it super hard to understand? The labs and the TA'S SUCK. worst class.

Didn't like his humour at all. The whole class he tried to make jokes instead of actually teach us. Learnt more in the lab then the lectures. Lab was good.

Very entertaining professor, both intelligent and funny. No need for a textbook, just the note package from the bookstore for $5 which covers the entire semesters notes. Good balance of seriousness when needed, and humour to ease the class. One of my favorite profs so far.

Entertaining lecturer to have for an 830am class. No text required, just his printed slides. The notebook isn't that bad, plus you get a free 5% just for doing it. Labs and TAs were awful though.

Dr Bell is one of the best Profs I have had in my 3 years in uni. One of the funniest, most intelligent profs I can say I have had and I look forward to taking more courses with him.

More of a TED Talk presenter than a professor. Extremely engaging. Tries to keep everybody interested. Has a few mandatory attendance days throughout the semester, and they are extremely informative. Overall a great Professor.

He has this ridiculous notebook you HAVE to have in order to pass. It's a blank lined paper notebook and you write anything and everything you want. It's lame. This is university not grade 5.

Awesome prof. The material can be confusing at first but just study. If you paid attention, the material was straightforward. My lowest mark was an 85%. The only complaint I have is his grammar/syntax. Beware, he tends to use a lot of double negatives, poor punctuation, and trick questions on his exams. FYI: DON'T buy the textbook! Useless!

Scott Bell was an awesome prof. He explained everything clearly. Lectures are recorded and textbook is not needed. Midterm was hard but the lab/lab exam and final were very easy. I would definitely take another class with him.

The class he teaches is very boring especially at 830am. While I do think the class is boring, I think Dr.Bell is a good teacher. He is nice during lecture but I felt he was a little rude during one on one office hours. Midterm is a tad hard, lab /lab exam are easy. The projects are horrible (mostly due to the T/A's.

Lectures were terribly boring. Multiple choice exam questions are tricky. Just studied slides, did not learn too much from attending class. Lab was extremely easy & fun

Couldn't for the life of me sit through an hour and a half of this class! Take the MWF! Super boring class, however it is ridiculously easy and a great mark booster. Dr. Bell is REALLY intense! His slides are often in essay format, which sucks but at least he has slides. Overall, boring, easy class; boring, easy instructor. DON'T BUY THE TEXTBOOK!

I had zero interest in the subject, which he reversed. I love his teaching style, and I love that he is enthusiastic about both the topic and his job. I loved the challenge in his class, too. He sets the bar high, without being sadistic. Plus he's funny. Thanks, Scott!

Bell was pretty good, he only taught half the classes but the ones he did teach were pretty interesting. He is very disorganized however and slow in puting slides up online. His assignments are pretty easy and he is a fair marker, although not a very quick one by any means. Overall, not a bad class/teacher for a first year students.

Scott is a very good lecturer. His notes are always posted online (usually before class, but not always). His assignments are fair. This class (human geography) is an easy class, based almost on common sense, so attending every lecture is not necessary. When you do though, he is very interesting to listen to present!

Intelligent & enthusiastic about course content. Tries to impress with vast, intricate knowledge but tries covering too much & confusing. Do well on labs to boost overall mark cuz exams can be tough. Accessible & helpful. No textbook or essay. Uses Blackboard online application (lab info, assignment submittals, shares powerpoint files).
