He's a great prof. It is too bad that he is no longer at McGIll. I learned the most for this one prof than any of the others..

Save yourself much time, boredom, and confusion - buy the ANTH 202 textbook and read it at home. It's actually quite entertaining, and the teacher is NOT.

Very interesting course, you could tell he had a good knowledge of the subject matter. However, I found that Brotherton was way too pedantic in his lectures and somewhat condescending.

He's ok, kind of patronizing and thinks he's great, uses the word "clearly" way too much. Was much better when he got into the latin american stuff that he's passionate about. Really easy class though.

one of the few voices in the anthropology department that really likes giving it to "the man". very open and helpful in office hours. cares about students!

I don't know what everyone's talking about. Brotherton is a clear, effective, and stimulating lecturer. One of the better profs I've had.

lectures are just a summary of the book. prof is condescending and patronizing. not engaging whatsoever. sucks the life out of the material. heard it was a good course under another prof, so take it if someone else teaches.

The problem with this course is not the material, which is kind of interesting, but the fact that PSB doesn't use WebCT. It's impossible to copy his overheads as well as what he is saying. It becomes irritating and frustrating. Talks about sustos too much

This guy is a lot better than people give him credit for. I enjoyed the class, it was a bit dry but it was easy and covers a wide variety of topics. If you can't do well in this class, you really don't belong in anthropology.

classic generalized intro anthro class with his lectures straight out of the book. a bit repetitive, seemed like he'd rather speak than teach at times. easy reading, though, and one of the best bets for an easy A in an intro anthro.

Way too hard for an intro course. Seems to expect all his students to already be experienced anthropologists. Kind of patronizing; uses tons of "big words". What ever happened to clear and to-the-point???

I think he's very well spoken and he knows the info well. He loves to say words in his little spanish accent... "susto, santeria" etc and he says the word "notion" FAR too much.(We counted once and it was 35 times in a 50 minute lectur
