Comment:

Shannon can be disorganized at times, but is otherwise a great professor. She offers plenty of opportunities to earn points back on bad tests and has a great essay structure (you definitely won't be doing the whole thing in one night). Definitely recommend!

Overall I didn't like Bio1A with her because the class was unorganized and she wasn't clear on what she wanted us to study. She is really nice and helpful if you go to her office hours. I would advise going to class since that's your best bet on doing good in the class. Just write down what she says as that's usually what's on the test.

She is SUCH a sweetheart!!! One of the best science instructors at SJSU! Her lectures are super interesting and she is very energetic. Can't say enough good things about her. What are you waiting for? TAKE HER NOW!! :)

She is SUPER helpful if you go and talk to her in her office hours bc she actually gives you good tips. Her tests are easy if you study key concepts but her MC does get tricky at times. Don't waste your time memorizing information from her ppts bc it's basically useless. Take GOOD NOTES from her lectures and you will do fine. I barely read book.

Extremely nice and approachable instructor. She is always excited to teach other and does an excellent job in doing so. All power point slides and she teaches so well that if you attend lecture and take notes on slides, you will easily get a B. If you study more, an A+ is quite possible. Easiness is not B/C class is easy, B/C she teaches very well!

She seems interested in teaching this class but she's unorganized with lecturing. The notes are all over the place and half the time, I'm not sure what I should be writing down (or if what she's saying is important or not). She's very nice but the class is VERY confusing. Text is useless. Field trips were cool; we had lots of fun on those!

Very nice and energetic instructor; probably one of the best I've had. She REALLY cares about the students learning the material in ecology. Don't bother wasting your money on the textbook, it's NEVER used. I passed the class by just attending lectures and really absorbing the material. She's an easy grader who allows buybacks on all exams.

3 exams, 1 presentation. No book use. Allows buybacks - essentially the ability to get 50% of lost points on exams by explaining your self etc.. which is great! Super duper easy and fun class. Very very interesting content/subject. ultra helpful, caring and approachable. The best professor at SJSU by far! Received A+ w/o BB. Highly Recommended!

I loved this class. Dr. Bros was one of the best teachers I had! She was able to explain the topics in such a way that it was easy to understand. Every class she reviewed the previous lecture which was nice. Her tests are not cumulative. Lab is so much fun! I loved the field trip labs. The lab tests are not cumulative.

Great Teacher, she cares so much about her students and really wants you to understand. She's by far my favorite teacher at SJSU even though the subject matter isn't very interesting. Field trips are fun. Didn't use textbook at all. Offers chances to increase your grade on exams. She's great! Thanks Dr. B!

Dr. Bros is the friendliest teacher I've ever had. She is extremely approachable and is very knowledgeable about statistics and you will learn lots of useful techniques for designing experiments, makes biology seem more real since you will actually know how to do science. Exams are a bit long, but she always gives you extra time if you need it.

Dr. Bros is a very nice teacher she is helpful and is by far my favorite teacher at SJSU. Her main point is to help students get good grades and increase there study habits. She has buy back points which lets you earn back a lot of points on her exams but makes you work for the points. Wish all teachers were this great and helpful. Its a hard class

Good teacher. Bad class. This class is basically a orders of operations class. Memorize what step to take after a previous step. Very boring class. Statistics with a hint of biology. Students often asking her what she's talking about. I'm an A student, I am getting my first C in this class and thats fine as long as I NEVER take this class again.

Dr. Bros is extremely friendly and dedicated to her class and her students. She is slightly unconventional in her teaching methods, but in a great way. She pushes you to participate and to think; instead of memorizing... which tends to be more the norm in biology classes. Great teacher and friendly person. She's a bit slow with emails though...

What can I say about bros that others haven?t already said?A VERY good teacher, who tries her hardest to make sure you pass her class, but more importantly understand the material. Go to class and pay attention to taxonomy and the way different structures work. Can be a little scatterbrained at times, but is one of the nicest teachers you will have

The class was an interesting disaster. Subject was cool, Dr. Bros is typically a very good teacher. However, this class (and lab) were not conducted optimally. The field trip (experiment) was quite fun though. The textbooks are not used at all.

She is a VERY nice and helpful teacher who will do everything she can to explain the material to you. The class itself is not very interesting but you don't use the book. Unfortunately Bros is a little scatterbrained at times and will forget various things if not reminded. Overall a good teacher, poor class.
