Absolutely terrible prof who doesn't know how to teach. She only reads her notes off the powerpoints. It is isn't a hard class, but she marks extremely hard on the assignments, which are very vague and is nearly impossible to get a high mark on unless you tell her exactly what she wants to hear.

Comment:

Took this last year from her, it was basically an hour long story telling session every class. I really don't care what your kid did, and we don't need 30 examples for one concept, one from each student. Was not impressed at all. Did not like her attitude either. A know-it-all, who didn't quite. That being said others seemed to love her.

More value was put onto the marketing section of the course. Course was very easy, going to class was not necessary. Midterm and final were easy and non-comprehensive. As for Comm 101, prof was fine and would recommed prof if you want something easy and not time consuming.

This class was not value for money. She canceled class for no reason other than "I have nothing planned." Her tests did not facilitate learning. The final was not comprehensive. She insisted on the final being on the December 22 and informed the class that was the only day available. The exam officer said not so, 100 level class should in 1st week.

Good professor. Kept classes interesting with stories. Very bubbly and easy to approach. As someone mentioned below, talk to her about projects beforehand so that you are clear on what she expects. I thought it was a good, interesting class.

Terrible prof! Expects that you need your hand held by her to write papers and if you don't comply with this, she****s on your paper. Horrible class, I don't care about your kids Shannon...perhaps if I was marked on how much I knew about your kids I would give a damn. Get out if you can!

Very dry class content. Print off the slides, go over them with her in class and you'll be good for the midterm with just a quick review. Very unspecific in assignments, stop by her office before doing them and you'll be much better off. Gave us a great outline for the final exam. Text also had online tests which matched the final.

Work your butt off and you MIGHT get a decent mark. Midterms are pretty easy but she tends to cheat you out of marks when she grades your assignment. Approaching her and meeting with her is a good idea, but there are often discrepancies between what she told you to do and her comments about your assignment. That part was really frusterating.

Yes she is very vague in her assignments and tests. And yes she does talk about her kids every 5 minutes...and yes she does just teach from powerpoint.All that considered, there are other things that make her good.She marks fairly easily, she is easy to approach, and she is overall a very nice friendly lady that will reward work with a good mark.
