Good professor. His accent is a little thick, but you get used to it after awhile. He uses powerpoints for his lectures. He usually gives one or two homework assignments a week. He does not accept late work. He gives study guides for his tests that are like the test but different numbers.

Tough material but Dr. Deng is an excellent professor. I had a small class so he asked each student questions to keep them focused and ensure understanding. I actually had him for both Linear and DiffEq during the summer semester and he was fabulous. Very helpful, homework was tedious but if you do well on the homework you will do well on the exams

Horrible expositor of mathematics, his lectures are jumpy and don't add much to the notes, which are available online. Fails to emphasize big picture concepts. Rude bordering on mean to students who give incorrect answers in class. Harsh grading for simple mistakes. Frequently mixes up terminology in lecture. Completely useless during office hours.

Dr. Deng is an amazing teacher. That being said, this class is incredibly hard. Had him for 3141 and 3142, and learned a lot about the subject. People who take other teachers for this class usually can't remember anything, but our whole class can still to this day tell you the difference between continuity and uniform continuity. Amazing teacher

Incomprehensible. Works the most simple examples for the sections, when the homework and tests are much more difficult. Will not help you if you go to office hours.

Homework counts for 40% of total grade. Attendance is required. 3 bonus points for perfect attendance. He gives homework Q&A sessions every week where he pretty much solves most homework problems. Make sure you attend these Q&A sessions. Half of exam questions are definitions. Memorize them. Overall a decent prof.

He isn't very clear sometimes. But if you put in effort you can pass his class. I will say he would not be my first choice for any class.

Professor Deng weeds out alot of people the first 8 weeks, but it gets easier and easier as more and more people drop. He is helpful you just have to ignore the this is obvious comments. But hes okay.

Worst professor I have had. Thick accent makes it virtually impossible to comprehend what he is saying. He gives examples already in the book, goes through them so quickly, then moves on. Not very friendly either. When I had a problem with Webwork, he was very short and almost rude sounding, as if he had better things to do than help a student.

You cannot understand this guy, extremely thick accent, reads (if you call it that) directly out of the book, goes over four examples, and moves on.

One point off your final grade for every absence. Formula sheet allowed for tests. Very harsh grader. Not friendly at all. Not a great teacher but i managed with the formula sheet to make it through the class

He's not a bad professor, but he's not the best either. Thick accent, but you'll understand him after a few days. Exams are really straight forward and he let you use a formula sheet. Homework is 40% of your grade, but they are easy. There are also Maple projects you'll have to do, they are easy as well. Bonus points for attendance. He's fair IMO.

Awesome professor! If you go to class you will have no problem getting an A or B. Grades consists of 2 tests, homework, a couple Maple assignments and a final. Gives a practice test before each test, and are identical to tests! Overall one of the best math professors at UNCC.

His English is alright to understand, but his lectures don't teach that well. The content is not hard but you do need to practice. He is very willing to help one-on-one though. He likes to assign Maple assignments which are aggravating but a grade-booster. Not really hard to make an A just not what I'd prefer for a teacher.

Overall good prof. Bit of an accent, but not bad. His test are easy if you study the practice test. He lets you have a formula sheet for the test and final. Grades are always available and up to date. Attendance is not mandatory, but he bumped my final grade from C to B because of good attendance. A must take for Diff. Eq.
