THE WORST TEACHER EVER! She really does think she can out smart anybody in any class with her "ethical issues" bs. It's impossible to do anything right in her class with how she grades and her lectures are pointless. Her tests contain material from the book that nobody would think to even read, which means to me that she would love to fail YOU

Do not take this class. Sharon will teach you nothing. She will bore you with monotone rambling that has no relevance most of the time. She provides vague instructions on assignments and grades more harshly than anyone I've come across. I have a 3.4 GPA and never got above a C. This class and teacher are worthless. She should be fired.

I have a 3.7 GPA and haven't got a B since 6 quarters ago. Until now. Her assignments contain ambiguous directions and then are harshly graded. I would follow the "directions," then receive a "C+" with maybe 3 words of comment. On top of that, class is worthless. She has students give presentations on the chapters, then briefly comments. Avoid.

If you are scheduled to take 604 with Sharon and you are reading this DROP the class and take a different one. If you don't about half-way through the quarter you will wish you did. She doesn't make sense in her ridiculous lectures, her assignments, or grading. The only thing clear about the class was that she is a terrible teacher.

Sharon is probably the worst prof. I have ever had. I didn't learn a thing in her class all she talked about was her revised syllabi all day. The assignments were tedious and she offered no real help.

Sharon West means well, but she is an absolutely horrible teacher. Most of the class is spent talking about the assignments, not how to actually do them. At one point, she asked the class, which is an upper division class, if they knew what the inverted pyramid was. Her grading is completely unfair at times without justification. Stay away...

she came across as very harsh at first and definitely was a tough grader. best advice is GO TO HER OFFICE HOURS. if you make the effort she is more than willing to help you out. expect to work hard, but as long as you do it should pay off in the end.

Wow. She cancelled about half the classes. The best part of the class was that there was no final and that she changed our midterm to just 3 short and easy essays. You learn a lot more in this class with experiencing interviews then you do from Sharon. She wasn't horrible.... but definitely needs some work.

This teacher clearly cares about what she is teaching but gets way into it and does go on monotone tangents that go on and on and on. One of the hardest classes to stay awake in when she does that. Bad at explaining and grading papers. It had potential but it pretty much was a pointless class. Dont bother if you dont have to.

It's been a while, but I still remember some of her war stories, which generally had the same point: follow the paper trail. To me, this gave her relevance and legitimacy, but I prefer profs who have actually done what they are teaching. I had some good arguments w/ her, and while we didn't always agree, that was never an issue.
