Comment:

Sharon seems unable to communicate ideas in her head to actual communication. Which is sad as she is also an English teacher. I recommend you document any and all communication you have with her. She emails tape record whatever you have to she will forget what was discussed later. If you can prove she did something wrong you'll get more points.

She waved her syllabus around like it is law set in stone. However considering how much she deviated from it, it is in reality clear as mud. Document all correspondence with her, tape record her class if you have to, she will either conveniently not remember conversations or deny they ever took place. STAY AWAY!!

Worst 14 week experience of my life. In an online class email should be your primary method of contact, but it took 13 days to respond to her email (she apparently only checks it once a week). Her method of grading is inconsistent at best. Once she marked me down because my opinion on a piece of literature was wrong. How can an opinion be wrong?

Sharon taught my woman's studies class, if that is what you want to call. I asked several times for clarification about issues on certain assignments. The response I was given was that I should already know the answer. Obviously I didn't or I wouldn't be asking. Her syllabus was difficult to understand and at times contradictory. Poor instructor!

Gets to much enjoyment out of torturing her students to retire. I was in tears twice after contacting her. There was actually one day she threatened to expel me from class, she claimed I used an outside source on an assignment. She dropped this claim after I explained the ()'s was merely a delimiter and not a reference, but she never apologized.

Poor Instructor, with unclear instructions. Grades depending on her mood, which is rarely good. Also I never had an instructor take 10 days to respond to an email. I don't know how she isn't at minimum reprimand from the dean, this being an online course email should be the primary method of contact. I know she's tenured, but this is simply wrong!

This is the worst teacher I have encountered at GRCC. This is my 4th semester here. Her grading is absolutely unclear. She grades by mood - her mood. In an online class it's impossible to know her expectations. I would NOT recommend her to anyone.

She is a horrible teacher. She takes forever to return emails,and grade work. Her grading system is harsh and is very unclear. Her syllabus has been consistantly wrong and due dates make no sense with reality.I have taken many online courses and she was by far the worst teacher I have ever encountered and should not be teaching an online course.

Extremely difficult professor. Very unclear as to what needs to be done, and impossible to get an A on anything. To get a passing grade, you pretty much need to be a perfect student. Good luck, you'll need it.

I would not recommend this instructor to the new or to the timid student. Seeing how much she complains about people not following the syllabus she deviates from it often. If you challenge her she will frequently amend herself, but shouldn't be necessary to fight for your grade. Poor instructor. Also does not check email regularly once a week tops.

Terrible instructor!! Class required several papers, but you could not use outside sources to supplement any materials. Unless you came to the same conclusion as she did (which contradicted the book frequently) you were marked down (a poor way to facilitate discussion). Don't expect to learn just regurgitate everything she wants as best your able.

A prime example of why the tenure system at universities should be abolished. She is outright rude to her students. I complained to the dean about her, but seeing as she has taught here forever (20+ years) there no getting rid of her or getting her to change. Do yourself a favor and stay away.

Don't be afraid to question her grading policy. I confronted her on numerous occasions that she was not grading according to her syllabus, and she actually raised my grade one full letter grade over the semester. She is a horrible teacher but if you keep her on her toes you might actually get a decent grade, though it is hardly the one you deserve.

wow. where to start. everyone in my class never understands what she wants us to do. she is very unclear and very forgetful. recently we did our research papers and she had previously graded them and when students went to review it with her she changed it to a lower grade right in front of them! i mean seriously she is very rude!!!!

Sharon team taught my Women Studies class. Awful, awful woman! Very unclear of what her expectations of us were. Wouldn't return emails or phone calls. If we asked a question regarding an assignment we were simply told that we should know already!

this prof was a hard nose from the beggining. i read the description of the class and the class itself was anything but fun as it stated. you just studied poets, no creative writing or fun poem making, just pap[ers analyzing poems and hard ball grades that she will grade down if you dont think the way she does
