Comment:

Dr. Mulay expects much of himself (crystal clear from the laser-like precision of his lectures), and he subsequently expects much of you (thinking and rethinking the material is essential to having a chance on his tests). Expect to work hard, and you'll develop deep understanding and learn much. He'll go to great lengths to answer questions fully.

He is a brilliant professor; knows everything. His notes are organized and easy to understand. His voice is clear and explain things very well. But, he at the same time a hard teacher and you have to expect the hardest tests ever. He is also tough in grading. Finally, I you want to understand algebra I recommend to take with a Prof. Mulay.

Mulay is a brilliant professor.He has the impression you're smarter than you actually are, so the class will either make or break you.don't take unless you're very motivated. homework is assigned every other week and is difficult.the exams are take home and *extremely* difficult. he refers to all the homework problems as "trivialities"

He is a very hard teacher. Make sure that you know your concepts. Seriously. The tests are very difficult and are not always related to problems done in class or in the hw. He gives hard weekly quizzes as well. He doesnt really count the hw for a grade though. I learned a lot, but not without having to teach myself most of the time.

A very hard teacher, Focused largely on concepts instead of individual problems, Weekly, difficult quizzes. Final means everything, he weighs it more than his syllabus says. i actually really enjoyed him as a teacher. I felt like he wanted me to learn, and he did everything he could to help me. You will have to work extremely hard.

Dr. Mulay was a very hard, very difficult to understand professor. His quizzes were difficult, but nothing compared to his tests. The quizzes were a piece of cake and gave almost no preporation for the test.

Hardest math teacher ever. I have taken several graduate math courses and still, his 300 level algebra course is the hardest math class I've ever had. I'm not being bitter - I got an A, but still I warn you, do not take this man's class unless you want to work very hard. The final will go down in history as the hardest test I have ever taken.

Dr. mulay was probably the worst math teacher i have ever had, the only good thing i can say about the class was that he was very liberal when giving me my WP, although my average in the class was about a 30.

This is the worst math class I have ever been in. He seems to have absolutely no desire to see any students learn. This is a one credit class, but has the workload of a 4 credit class. Class average of midterm was around 35. His answer to low grades? Encourage all the students to drop the class.
