Take him only if you can: deal with unclear guidelines, incredible gaps between tests, having to learn material on your own, having to wait until the last minute to run ICP/IC tests while listening to him berate you for not being prepared, running over an average of 5 minutes for lecture and 45 minutes for lab, and wanting to scream constantly.

Hands down the most unprofessional professor I have ever had. Tells entire class they are stupid. Cusses at entire class and has hissy fits like a child if someone doesn't answer his questions he asks in class that half the time have nothing to do with the material. Also don't ask questions because he'll make you feel stupid. Avoid him.

Expects entirely too much out of a introductory class and constantly puts us down. Online quizzes and a few tests (which are nearly impossible no matter how hard you study). Kind of rude to talk to in general. Unless you want to fail bio, just don't.

just don't. he only ever talks about his other classes, my class was behind for weeks because he had no clue about 1802. uses iclickers for attendance and participation. he will call you out if you're on your phone, or not paying attention. tests are very difficult. AVIOD HIM.

Great guy. Terrible professor. I had him for human systems lab and his grading was absurd. The two large lab reports we turned in were not graded in a timely manner and the feedback was vague. High expectations with little to show for it.

Had him for human systems physiology lab. Really cool guy and really helpful with any questions you might have. He was a really tough grader, but made his expectations really clear. If you finish your labs a few days early he'll be happy to look over them for you. Overall a very good teacher, but be expected to put in some work for a good grade.

Invert and Coral Reef classes were awesome. He's an incredibly smart guy who I'd recommend to any serious biology student. I never knew about his views on religion and science until I read the previous ratings. He never mentioned them to us. Makes me wish I'd hung out with him more!

Nice guy, godly knowledge of invertebrates, but be prepared to get frustrated with his methods. Did not plan the syllabus very well, I often didn't know what to expect b/c exam dates & such changed a lot. But he does realize his organization is flawed & is willing to work with you. Overall, if you're into inverts this is the class to take.

Dr. Tuberty is a good man. He is intelligent and should you have any problems, he is very willing to work with you. Yes, his tests are pretty difficult if you haven't studied and aren't very interested in the subject but there are extra credit opportunities to boost your grade. Study, go to class, pay attention, ask for help and you should be fine!

Dr. Tuberty is a very good teacher and his class is not really that difficult. Those of you who say his tests are hard are either dumb, or just haven't taken the time to study even a little bit for them. Also, he isn't arrogant, he is just confident and intelligent. I enjoy his class and he has made biology a lot more interesting to me.

He is a great guy and really smart in his field, but overall I feel like I have learned nothing from his class. The way he taught his lectures it was really hard to know what was going to be on the exams. I'd stay away.

Tuberty's class, like most Bio classes for non-majors, is quite difficult, especially his tests. However he is a great speaker with a genuine interest in his field, and he always relates the material to real issues. Awesome class for your required Science.

Tuberty's class is certainly difficult, but at least he cares about what he is teaching.I appreciate the fact that he actually wants us to take away important, useful knowledge from his class- it's a nice change from some professors. His tests are difficult, esp for non majors, but it's not impossible to survive.and he plays good music during breaks.

Teaches the class like we're ALL biology majors and is big into evolution. He also screwed up my class' mid-term grades and refused to give back any points to those whose grade went down. He's disrespectful during office hours or after class. Way to hard for just an intro class. He's a prick...don't take him.
