Comment:

Sherly is amazing. Yes, you must go to every class and her homework and project are very heavy, but putting in minimal effort into this class, I can almost guarantee an easy A. staying off your phone is also key. Sheryl is very caring and loving, give her a chance and by the end of the semester, I am sure you will love her and have a high mark.

Comment:

Sheryl neatly fits into the opposite characteristics of each of the "tags." It is extremely sad that Camosun College would hire an instructor who quite evidently does not care for the students. She is an incompetent instructor. Please do not let the impression manipulate or persuade you. Beware.

For a class that is supposed to be about holistic healing, it is incredibly anxiety inducing. This prof is so high strung, she micromanages every little detail right down to physically counting words on every printed assignment you hand. No lenience for lateness or being sick, if you arent physically in class ZERO marks for assignments. Ridiculous

Never had less respect for a professor. Doesnt teach, she brings in lecturers to do her job & on days where she cant find a preseneter she assigns group work & sends class into the halls. You will need a doctors note for lateness or absence. She will belittle you in front of the class. Expects impeccable grammar DO NOT TAKE IF YOU ARE ESL.

Sheryl is a good person, but the way she teaches health 112 is another story.. There are weekly reflection assignments that usually take up to 4 hours to complete. Other than the weekly assignments, the only other things that count towards your grade are a 9 page research paper and a group project. Both take/waste a lot of time. learnt nothing.

Horrible Prof. Rude, didn't care about students, and made what could have been a nice elective into easily the most stressful course I've taken. There were 4 papers that were either get a C or the fail the entire course, these were also accompanied by homework questions every week. Maybe worth taking if you have a light course-load.

Her grading criteria is crap and not specific to what she ACTUALLY wants from you. Honestly an intimidating prof to approach or talk to. Loves to boast about her "healthy" lifestyle and is in no way compassionate about her students lives. Anybody could teach the course she provided, she didn't know the answers to questions students asked. Avoid!

I loved learning with Sheryl! Her lectures are lively and engaging. Yes, she's strict and expects the best of her students, but it pays off! She's also deeply compassionate about her pupils. One lecture in particular was upsetting for me; she sat with me and let me open up during break. Great teacher. Go to class, do your best, and you'll get an A.

his class looks like an easy elective but it will ruin your life. work load is huge 2 huge papers worth 20%.+ weekly assignments. Sheryl is nice but can be very condescending, no phones. doesn't post slides on D2L and has in class activities. don't buy the textbook, use the library ones. don't take if you have an eating disorder, very triggering

Her teaching style was interesting, she is pushy and condescending, did not find her helpful or her lecture style. She is a quack, I don't care about her views and the class itself is a bit sketchy with the 'spirituality' and what not, but come on don't push it on me.

Her lectures we're always interesting and her positive energy always kept me focused and learning lots. I would definitely recommend taking this class with her. She does have two big assignment but super easy if you follow the instructions and get it in on time :)

I worked my butt off (out of fear!) and achieved a good grade. This prof is just an added stress. I will avoid future classes with her. She puts a lot of work into the lectures and handouts, and is very "passionate". However, the teaching style was often harsh & authoritarian. She delights in punishments. I recall being shocked at times. Scary.

Comment:

She's very soft spoken and is very sweet. She doesn't post her lecture notes online, so make sure to attend class. She gives hints for the tests during her lectures, as an added bonus for coming.
