Please take another Speech class with another professor. If you have the bad habit of coming late to your classes, DO NOT take her. She will dramatically drop your grade during speech day if you're late. I ha d to learn this the hard way, and she dropped a grade for one of my speeches from an A to a C, even though I did my best. You've been warned.

This class is terrible. She treats you as if you were in kinder. I tried so hard on each one of my speeches and didnt receive anything above a B-. I truly wish i wouldve read these comments before because i would have taken speech elsewhere. Ive never done one of these, but i had to after taking this class. Please take speech with someone else.

Prof. Long is a caring, patient, accessible teacher. She demands respect to the subject a lot. She tells you exactly what you need for your presentations. She advices you in how to get better with your public speaking issues. Every speech is graded according to the time limit she sets. Is a fun interactive class that improves your public speaking.

Margie is a wonderful teacher despite the fact that she is very strict. All assignments must be exactly how she asks them to be because if not, major points will be deducted!! She's a tough grader and def makes you work for your grade. Attendance is mandatory and tardiness will affect your grade!! Overall she's wonderful and cares for your success.

Honestly created this account to bring to light what an amazing professor Long is. She is honestly super caring and easily one of the professors I respect the most. I am a straight A student that works really hard to strive in all of my classes. After taking this class one thing was very clear. She choses favorites, plain and simple; and if you are not on her good side getting the grade you want will be close to impossible. If you show up and speak you will pass. As for getting an A however, good luck!

Her class was overall easy. The only thing that I noticed wrong was that she was a little mean. I remember she would always make people take off their hats or beanies, and piercings..? I don't understand why.. Overall taking this class definately helped me with my stage freight and made me a better public speaker

Took her for the summer. She crammed it in, 5 speeches in 5 weeks. Seriously fast paced. Try to only take this class if you are taking over the summer. Follow her syllabus and outlines EXACTLY and do an okay job during the speech, you'll get the A. Two tests worth +40% of class, multiple choice, directly from book. DO NOT come late or skip class.

I'm about to graduate and after several semesters I can say, Long is absolutely the WORST professor ever! I'm a great student. I'm "older, " and more respectful of my prof., but she made this class impossible to pass. I'm yet to meet 1 student that has rcvd. higher than a C! Take my advise, take speech elsewhere. Or wait til she DOESN'T teach it!

Down right worst professor I've taken so far. You literally have to beg for her help. And you have absolutely no freedom whatsoever in your speeches. Everything has to be layed out the way she wants it to go. She dropped a letter grade in 1 of my speeches just because I was having fun with it. Her methods are the worst.

The worst professor I've ever had. And an experience I will never forget. I took this course as it is part of our general ed plan. Considering my Stage Fright I thought I'd be able to accomplish with a little help and guidance. Not only is she strict but also very rude and does not care to help her students. She is honestly not as bad as people think, as long as you do your work, try, and have plenty of eye contact during speeches she is a great instructor. I truly learned to feel more comfortable in front of people after taking this class
