Professor Malkin made French class a joy. I was not afraid to talk in class, I enjoyed the discussion that began each session and felt that her grading was fair. She was able to turn a class I used to dread into a course I looked forward to! I love this professor.

This woman is so smart and knowledgeable that is it scary! Always willing to push you to do your best and will reward you for hard work. Don't take her if you are looking for a back burner class or something easy to boost your gpa. She doesn't give out A's very easily, but if you survive her class, you can do anything! WORTH IT!

Entertaining but when it comes to grading she is somewhat inconsistent. Always keeps class interesting but make sure you know what to expect on assignments, which can sometimes be last-minute. Always willing to help you out though!

Mme Malkin is an amazing French professor. Having taken 202 & 301 from her, her classes are informative, modern, entertaining, and challenging. Prof. Malkin is a very knowledgeable, dedicated, charismatic, and compassionate teacher whose spontaneity keeps the class from ever being boring and the student constantly learning.

Comment:
I really enjoyed taking French 322 with Shira Malkin. She is enthusiastic about the material, and class was pretty fun. She is a wealth of knowledge about anything French, and she knows the answer to just about any question you can ask. However, readings are a bit long, and Mme Malkin is very disorganized; sometimes it hurts the class as a whole.

Mme Malkin is a wonderful person and charismatic and energetic professor with a true passion for what she teaches. Her organizational skills, however, are truly lacking, to the point that it hurts the class - only take her if you can handle last minute assignments and never getting graded work promptly.

this class was the bain of my existence when i was a sophomore. she's smart, yeah, and obviously cares about the subject, but still... she needs to chill out and drink less caffeine.

although the class isn't hard, it was disorganized and there were a lot of last-minute assignments thrown at us. could be very frustrating if you're still struggling with the language. but she is extremely nice, very funny and obviously cares about what she is teaching.

She is a fabulous and entertaining language prof. Even though she asks a lot from you, I learned more from her in one semester than I have in all my years of french classes.
