She knows her stuff and really cares about all of her students, even if the students don't think she does. She was awarded the Excellence in teaching award in 2004 and deserved it without a doubt. She doesn't know it but she has helped change a lot of lives for the better through her contact with student teachers.

The prof. can teach for sure, but she can be incredibly unclear in her evaluation expectations and has a very dark side to her temperament and personality. She questioned the efficacy and motivation of aspiring teachers who were married with children. Some of us can teach without being spinsters.

Hands down, the best prof I had last year. There's a reason she won the award for excellence in teaching. Whiners beware: she'll smoke you for doing a slack-ass job, and reward those who do the work and contribute--a rarity in the faculty of D'uh.

Shirley was my advisor for practice teaching, and she was very tough to say the least. Looking back at the year now though, I really value what I learned from her and all of her helpful advice. Just make sure you proofread everything.
