She is very lively in class and passionate about the material. Gives good instructions, clear powerpoints and knows a lot! I was not interested in the topic but she kept me focused. Easy to get a B, but you have to work for an A.

She's VERY knowledgeable, her lectures are informative and fun! She's the kind of historian you really want to aim to become. My only issue is how difficult it is to get above a B+ if you're not completely invested in medieval knowledge already. I get after days of research on assignments because there's just so much info scattered around!

Get ready to read a lot of primary sources, and then write a lot about them. 8-10 page paper is the norm for the final, with a shorter paper beforehand. Wallis really knows her stuff and is more than willing to give you help if you e-mail her. Go to lecture, she's funny and you learn more than just doing the reading.

She gives good lectures and really cares about the material. The grading is somewhat tough, but it isn't hard too get at least a B, you just really have to work for it if you want an A. Readings are helpful and interesting, but you only really need to do the ones related to the paper topics if you don't have a lot of time.

Professor Wallis is a great lecturer and always engages students. The course consists of two papers and one take home final (also in paper format) but she and her TAs are tough graders therefore I did not enjoy the course as much.

She's interesting and clearly loves the material. Also, the workload isn't too heavy since you can choose only to read what is required for the assignments and it is recorded. However, your grade is only based on 3 papers and the TAs were super strict. Don't take if you want anything more than a B+.

Really humble and inspiring proffesor, super approachable and does justice to the material. Other prof can be slow and watched his recordings online just so that I could listen at 2X speed. Two papers and a take home final.

i had Professor Wallis for Medicine in the Medieval West and she truly is a delightful, kind, and passionate professor. However, I found that the material was extremely complex and at time not very well explained. The conference sections did a lot to help with my general understanding of the course (take the one the is directed by the prof)

She's great! Her lectures are very interesting and clear. The readings are really important for the final take home exam. The 2 papers focus on a primary source and any relevant readings. (The 2nd final paper also requires research.) I wish the whole course had been taught by her!

Not only is she very knowledgeable about the subject matter, she's also very sweet and will not hesitate to answer any questions you may have. I definitely recommend this class if you have any interest in medieval history, or even if you're a health science student who's looking for a great social science class.

Very clear, loves the middle ages, and will be of great help for papers. Always in a good mood. Ive taken classes in many different departments, and so far she is the best lecturer I've had (even compared to Petrifies, because she is clearer than him). The grading is fair, and the amount of reading just what you would expect for a history class.

She talks pretty fast in her lectures but it's only because she is very passionate about the subject. She loves when you contribute to the lectures/conferences. She is super sweet and very knowledgeable.

Good prof. Lectures are somewhat confusing if you don't know GreekRoman times. Essays and the final is also a take-home essay. Lectures were recorded. Take notes of what she says because this is the answer to the essay questions.

The class was really interesting and she's an excellent lecturer. Lectures are well organized. Textbook was barely used. 2 papers throughout the term and one final take home exam. The workload is pretty evenly distributed throughout the term. Marking depends on your TA, but I did well by keeping up to date with the material and going to see her/TAs

She's a bit confusing at first but once you understand her lecture style you realize that she's great! Knows absolutely everything about medieval history and seems to love it. A very fair marker too, and she assigns a very reasonable amount of work/reading.

Excellent profs, the material was super interesting. Difficult to get an A...the essays focus on writing everything you know rather than your writing style/arguments. Online lectures, online submissions, interesting readings.
