Sid Halsor is a wealth of knowledge. Hes not an easy grader but for those not in geology, hes does his best to grade fairly on what you know. He can be intimidating but he is soooo nice and always available to answer questions. One of the best at Wilkes.

Oh Sid... He is the man. My goal when I am his age is to be as cool as he is. Over summer or winter vacation Dr. Halsor spends his time climbing mountains overlooking Mt. Everest. How cool is that?! As for his class, 211, it was a pretty easy A with just going to class every day and looking over the notes the night before.

I have never had a more demanding class in my life. Psycho Sid is completely delirious if he thinks his workloads are manageable. I do not recommend his online class to anybody who is taking a full semester of classes, you'll lose your mind trying to keep up. Besides the class, I wasnt a fan of him either.

The class isnt so bad but the tests will get you if you dont study. Dont take if you want an easy grade. I really enjoyed the class and learned alot from him. His material can be boring but he tries his best. I think that everyone should take him at least once.

Nice Guy. Tough class. Vacation photo's are a +. Quiz every week. Lab is a guess on what the answer might be. Teaching not his strong point.

It's the type of class that makes you think, "It sounds easy but it's not." Don't take the tests lightly. It's not a extremely hard class, more on the medium/hard side, but if you study your notes once a week you should be fine on tests. Watch out for the project. Put the effort into it in advance. Use the book as a guide. Puts notes online.

Ok this was like 96 or 97 - the class was coined "Rocks for Jocks". It was somewhat difficult despite the name. The class was full of jocks (overweight D3 football players) and stoners with a few normal people mixed in. It was a riot, and sid, he's a good guy.
