I looked back, and I wish I had paid attention in her class. However, you have to study for the tests if you want to pass. Short answers, and some questions were easy. Expected you to know the basic concept of philosophy.

sweet and very knowledgable of course materials. tests are fair and usually straight from the text/notes. lectures are sometimes confusing but if you speak up and ask questions you'll be fine. she likes class participation and is a very fair grader. recommended.

tests are easy, take home essays that are straight out of the readings and notes. no point in doing the readings, as she goes through the assignments and points out exactly which lines you need to know for the test. can be disorganized and unprepared for class.

She's an extremely nice lady and I found her and the class interesting. I took her 2 years ago and felt that I can correlate my improved ways of thinking directly to her teachings. In class, you go over the assigned readings. Exams(essays) are based on the readings and what was talked about in class. Write what she teaches not what YOU think.

Prof. Benso is a genuine philosopher. If you're interested in an easy class then you probably won't like her. However, if you really want to think and DO PHILOSOPHY she is the by far the best in the department. She's also very nice and has a great accent! I would definitely recommend her to any SERIOUS student.

She's an excellent professor, and the students whose comments reflect poorly on her are most likely poor students themselves.

Her class is wicked boring. She doesn't get anything back to you quickly. 3 out of class exams, but she expects a lot of detail, and no matter how much detail you write you wont get an A. The readings are rediculous, but so is the class. She goes over everything you read and puts you to sleep. She was the first class I have ever fallen aslepp in.

Extremely easy but verrry boring! The only homework is reading and she goes over it all the whole next class so if you dont want to read, you really dont have to. Her notes are annoying but her accent is great to listen to.. Likes class participation and tests are cake if she gives more take homes like we got. Take if you are not interested in phil

One of my favorite profs ever. She likes a LOT of detail on the tests, but once you learn what she is looking for, you will do fine. She is fun to listen to and creates good discussion. Just an all around nice person.

It's a philosophy class, it's learning about philosopher's ideas. People don't get that and try to argue their points with her on the tests and wonder why they do badly. Study alot for the tests because even when you think you did well, you probably didn't and never take a class with Hype because he's obnoxious and doesn't know when to quit.

If you are looking for a class you can sleep through and do alright, this is it. No hw, except for reading, but you dont have to do it b/c she goes over all the reading in class. No paper, 1 powerpoint project which takes about an hour to do. Doesn't notice/care if you fall asleep in class. 2 in-class tests and a final. Plus shes nice. Easy Sh**.

Shes the Dumbest smart person I know...Like honestly her 3 tests she gives are ridiculous. I gave her the lowest I could on clarity but if I could go Lower I would....Her notes are all over the board and you can barely read what she writes....Good luck on the tests too....she won't tell you anything about them...

She is annoying and with only three tests you have to keep up with the huge amount of reading. That is if you can see past her tediously long terrible lectures.

My huge problem is she only gives out three tests for the entire semester, and participation and presentation make up little of your grade.Make life easier and take philo at a community college! Most professors are a lot more open than the ones at Siena. However, you can pass with Benso if you work!

I will be a bit more honest. If you take her class, you MUST have an opne mind, those who do not have an honestly open mind will hate the class. After that, the teacher is a ****, you can understand her just fine, but her tests are impossible. I had to drop the class.

Wow! While she doesn't actually test the fact that you read every night, you still have to be a pretty good note taker in her classes since she doesn't get everything on the board. Understanding her is half the battle.
