He is such a helpful teacher! He uses reading circles that seem intimidating at first but they really help you to become a better writer. He doesn't usually give full credit on assignments but it is still easy to get an A. You won't have to read any books or purchase a textbook. Super fun class that is way easier than any other RWS class!

Sim is a great professor; calm, collected, and eager to help his students any way he can. The class consists of 3 projects, a final letter, and easy online quizzes. I found the projects sort of cheesy, but he grades fairly and we peer review before submitting final drafts. I would recommend this class.

Sim is a great guy and an amazing teacher. He's always happy to help students in class and during his office hours. We had 3 projects, a resume/cover letter, song lyrics and a magazine article. They're also a few online quizzes that are easy that boost your grade. The projects are a little challenging but he's a fair grader. Great class.

Best Class Ive Ever Taken! 3 projects overall and he is very clear on what he expects. We did coverletter/resume, song lyrics, and a magazine article. It didn't sound fun at first, but it was. The song lyrics are especially. He goes little by little so youre not overwhelmed. The final is just writing a letter to him.Take this class! You wont regret it!

We read our essays out loud in class and commented on them in a large circle. Though this method was very time consuming it was also extremely effective.

Sim is the Man! Take his class if you have the chance. Ppl know he's good so it will fill up quick. His assignments are chill and not too hard. Do them and edit for a one grade bump up. You can get an A if you just give a little effort. I promise!

There were three major assignments. We had to read them out loud - Sim calls them reading circles. I was intimidated at first, but once it started I saw why he does it. It was helpful to hear the comments on my work and to see other student's work. Sim is chill and funny, and the class took on it's own personality. Sim's class was awesome.

Very interesting class. I have always been hesitant to share what I have written to a class, but he made a very welcoming environment. He made sure the feedback from students was helpful. He was clear with his expectations but also made sure the class figured stuff out for themselves too. Great class, great professor.

The rws100 class was hard. I worked my butt off for a B. But I have to say Professor Sim is the best teacher ever, and I used to hate reading and writing. Not now. I loved going to class and didn't know what to expect. I hope there are more profs here at State that are as good as him.

Sim is super young and chill. He teaches you stuff you can use in a future job or internship. His class is never a waste of time. Few quizzes w/ Internet use. Couple projects that hold most weight, they're easy (no groupwork too, mostly) don't sweat the 'reading aloud' aspect of your work, not bad at all. Gave me a C when I deserved an F, good guy.

If you don't take him for the WPA requirement, you'll regret it. He taught us practical writing and tricks that I am even using in my internship. You have soooo much time to work on the assignments and they are simple and straightforward. Be slightly active in class (which is fun) and use the templates he gives you and you're guaranteed an A!

I am a senior, & he is the best professor I have had EVER. Three big projects, you DO have to read them aloud in class. No book! Gives you the chance to update your work. Final is easy and at home. Great guy, inspiring and makes a WRITING class enjoyable - which is hard. TAKE HIM!!!!

This was the best course I took in my years at SDSU. Sim is a really nice guy and his writing projects are relevant to real world applications. If you like skipping class and messing around, this isn't the course for you. Show up, pay attention and you'll learn something. Sim connects with his students which makes fun. Take this class.
