I'm taking my FYS with Dr. Sheffert and she's not teaching! She thinks it should be easy so we never read the textbook and going to class is a waste of time. Not to mention she's missed 3/4 classes with no warning. She's a nice lady and I think she likes the material and wants it to be fun, but it's not. I'm giving my time and money I want to learn

Definitely did not need to go to every class although they usually are interesting. I just read the book before tests and usually got around a 90%. She also drops questions that not many people got correct. Awesome. There were also a lot of papers for this class that seemed, at first, like they were going to be really hard. They're not. At all.

Dr. Sheffert is a new prof at Alma College. She is awesome, totally smart, considerate and able to laugh at herself. Her tests are killer but fair and she will spend a lot fo time helping you.

Dr. Sheffert is the nicest prof I have had at CMU. She LOVES psychology and makes it easy to be interested in the class. Tests are easy if you keep up with lecture. I attended class regularly, never bought the book and ended up with a B.

it is people like you who probably sent the rude mail. why don't you post your name so I can ask? I dont get why you think the class was so hard. she gave practice questions in class, on thw web and was totally fair. she was not boring to our group because we asked questions and acted like we were in class not watching youtube.

she was a very nice person and will help you out if you ask for it, but other then that is not the best teacher... the lectures are pretty much useless for the tests but i sometimes found them interesting just to listen to... not really worth waking up from your nap for though. ... overall she is VERY nice as a person but not the greatest professor

she's a pretty bland person, and tries to be funny at times, but rarely. she's always late, but a good person at heart. you don't need to go to class all the time only the lecture before an exam when there are extra credit quizes.

She's really nice and fair and had to put up with a lot from this class, but the lectures weren't all that helpful. While they were sometimes intersting, I found I did much better if I just made flashcards and studied on my own. I think it's just a tough subject to learn.

she spent time with me before every test reviewing and was funny and not boring with me. lecture was kind of boring but people asked the dumbest questions and cheated and were rude. she was allways respectful and fair. stupid freshman.

Dr. Sheffert is a nice person. She is friendly and helpful and she tries to make it interesting but her voice is so soft that I fight to stay awake in this class! The book is horrible to read... it puts me to sleep too! If you study you will do ok. If you need help she will try to help you as best she can.

This course is not too bad, but it can be difficult. The book is incredibly dry and so is the lecture, but the professor tries to make it more interesting. She explains the concepts well. All notes are posted on Blackboard, so just read and study and the exams should go well!

Awesome teacher and awesome class. I didn't buy the book or do the reading for this class and I'm still getting a high b, low A. I go off the notes she gives in class. She explains things wonderfully and makes sure that everyone understands the concepts. Taking her again next semester.

Sonya is a great teacher. Easy to listen to and easy to reach if you have questions. Gives you pages you don't need to know for exams and the GA always makes a study guide. You have to read each week, but you can drop your lowest exam score. I would totally take her again!
