Spaska is an amazing prof. I really enjoyed having her for German. She's very funny and she explains the content well. She's also incredibly caring. When I thought I failed my midterm, she told me not to worry because she would let me redo it if I did poorly (I didn't).

I took German cinema with Spaska last winter and it was a great course. I learned so much about German cinema and German history and culture as well. Very informative course, great selection of movies. This was my favourite course.

She is honestly the best professor I had in first semester! She is super bubbly, friendly, and easy going. It helps for first years who are terrified of approaching their profs. If you need an extension and talk to her, she is usually willing to help. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to learn German!

She was very bubbly and seems like a great person, but we really didn't do much of anything in the course. I don't feel like I learned a lot which, coming from a German-keener, is a bad thing. I would have chosen a different section if there was the option to do so.

Great prof!!! Beautiful personality, explains well but sometimes get sidetracked with her hilarious anecdotes. Its a good way to be introduced to a new language, and she conveys the material well. Very flexible but doesnt always answer her email...

Spaka is very energetic,but she is not a very good prof. She jumps back and forth between topics, switching from english to french even though this is an English taught course. This was very frusterating because I don't speak French, and I believe that this affected my marks. Also, the tests aren't representative of what was learned in class.

She has a very positive attitude which makes her classes fun to be in. I found the syllabus wasn't really followed which was confusing and made the class a bit disorganized, but I don't think that was her fault. You need to attend class if you want to do well. Also, if you are not a fan of group work or speaking in class, this class if not for you!

Good teacher overall. As other raters have stated, she jumps from one subject to another very quickly.. also, watch out if you're not bilingual, since she also switches between explaining in English and in French (all though mostly in English).

She is a fun prof- class is never very hard. But it is easy to get lost if you miss a class or two. Keep in mind though, the other profs are not so easy, and if you take Part 2 of the course, you will almost certainly have to work to catch up.

Super funny and interesting. Made German fun! Sometimes information was a little rushed coming close to test time, but she was great otherwise. Little tests and assignments instead of midterms - woo hoo!

She's really helpfull and understanding... however, if you don't know your stuff in her class, it's easy to get lost or confused since she jumps from subject to subject really quick. I recommend the course if you are ready for a challenge...A neat prof!!
