Stan Kollar was one of the finest professors in my college experience. It has been a number of years since I took his courses at HCC but I learned a great deal and found him to be very knowledgeable. He is fair in grading and very approachable with questions - I found he enjoyed students who extended effort and wanted to learn. Thank you Stan

He's a good teacher and clearly loves the subject. I just wish he would at least give some type of study guide for the tests.

He is a great BIO teacher. I was dreading having to take the class but he made it really fun. His lectures were pretty interesting and he knows so much about biology. The tests and quizzes weren't too hard but you definitely have to study. Gives extra credit occasionally. He's also pretty accommodating if you miss class or a test.

Disorganized. Subject is Broad in general and he is unclear of key learning goalsmaterial. Labs and Lectures are often out of order. More like a Undergraduate class than introductory. Is lacking in social etiquette and respect for students. Fascinating knowledge, but irritating. The only thing saving you is reading the text book front to back.

I had him for General Biology II, and environmental analysis. He has so much passion and knowledge about the environment and ecology, that it is really amazing how he can fit it all in his brain. His test can be hard because he expects you to know a lot, but more so, in order to apply that knowledge in the working world. Outside activitie are fun.

People shouldn't hate on this guy so much, the people who are saying that he's not clear and they could understand the lectures; are clearly the people who did not pay attention and take good notes or even show up. He is very informative and knows the information, as long as you show up, follow along, take notes, and actually try you will pass.

Professor Kollar gives the world's fastest and most jumbled lectures. Looking back at my notes to study for tests is like putting together a puzzle. Quizzes almost every class. He expects you to be an expert and will call you out in class to answer. If your memorization skills aren't excellent, look elsewhere for Bio.

Stan is the MAN. ASK YOUR QUESTIONS!!! He adds in his own personal touch to the textbook. Stan was my favorite professor at HCC. Respect him and his interest for botany and he will teach you some pretty cool things. He and his family are so cool. They were totally psychedelic hippies back in the day.

If you want to learn about Plant Anatomy, you are better off finding online material. This guy teaches like he expects undergrads to be freaking botanists!I I really feel college should revamp this course! Tests are way to difficult and the answers are in his mind not the textbook

Killer volume #hair. Stan is the man. taught me everything I needed to know about animal trapping, the texas thicket, foliage, and the florida panther (including, but not limited to breeding patterns). Stan can be spotted in his natural habitat: Looneys Pub - embracing a dos equis!

I never thought a teacher could be so bad. He does not know how to teach whatsoever. I can't even explain how bad he was but it is ridiculous and I am not exaggerating. Worst teacher I have ever had and will ever have in my life...

Worst teacher i have had so far. Nearly impossible to learn anything and the power points are not very good. Hard to prepare for a test that you dont know whats going to be on it. Taking a class with him is playing russian roulette with your grade. Stay away

Good teacher. Knows his material. Gives special lectures on things that are not mentioned in the textbook but quizzes you on both the textbook and his special lectures. Before tests and quizzes he also lets you know what will be on the test. Only problem is, he isn't consistent with emails and I learned to not expect a response until next class.

The absolute worst professor I've had at HCC. He never taught and would walk out of the class for long periods, especially during labs...when you have the most questions. He doesn't keep you updated on grades and you have no idea where you're at. Do not take him!

I was only at the school for 2 semesters and took him for 3 classes. He is tough on grading, but is very lenient with final grades. I received 2 A's and a B in his classes and only got the B because I missed a few labs for an environmental science class he was teaching. I recommend taking him as he will make you think.

He does expect you to work, so if you're looking for an easy class do not take his. I thought he was a good teacher, did not find him rude. I enjoyed his classes and labs, although He does run all over ther place in his lectures. You must do the work and read to pass. He does quizzes every lab.

One of the worst teachers I have had. He knows the material and is passionate, but is not organized or prepared. Often paused class time so he could write the quiz for that day. Very inconsistent and doesn't appear to do much lesson planning. Uses class time to go off on tangents about things not pertaining to course material.

Personally, I didn't think this class was hard at all, partially due to the fact that I took AP Bio in high school. If you work hard, you should be ok. I didn't think he was every rude or unorganized as some say...
