I was just reading over a paper I wrote for Stefan's class (almost 5 years ago now) and WOW it shook me to my core again! Stefan was the all time BEST professor I have EVER had! We had so many incredible class discussions that were eye opening!

Stefan was the best prof. the MRU education department ever had. He was always an advocate for the students and was always open to talking with and supporting them. It is an utter shame that he had to "retire". The Ed. department is not the same now. If you never got a chance to have a class with him, you missed out! Top class professor and human.

Comment:

The best professor I ever encountered at MRU. YES he has some wonky beliefs, but they do start to make sense. He challenges you to think in a way you never would have before this class. It is very upsetting that he "retired" as I had hoped to have at least one more class with him.

Stefan is the only professor at MRU who has taught me how to think critically as well as think for myself. I never realized how much I was conforming to my other profs views before taking this class. He does 'push' his opinion on you, but only because he wants you to be able to think for yourself, disagree with him, and then prove him wrong.

Most amazing man in the world. Taken 3 classes, now on my 4th with him. He has changed my life in ways I couldn't imagine. Forces you to think and to stop believing things just because you were told they were truth. Makes you question EVERYTHING you thought you knew. Going to seriously miss this man when I'm done.

Most amazing professor in the EDUC department. Seriously inspiring and will make you think! His class screws with your mind (not your brain), and he is the best teacher I've had in my entire life. Would highly recommend him if you would like to feel accepted as yourself and want to explore who you could be as a teacher.

He didn't give the greatest first impression. It feels like he forces his opinions on us and we are expected to share his views. I saw a lot of my classmates start to become him and say what he wanted to hear, at least in class. However, he is very nice and supportive when you meet one on one, but is quite intimidating in class.

Most amazing and influential person I have ever met! Beyond being the best teacher ever, he is a great mentor and role model for all would-be teachers. He is a friend as well as everything else. Really going to miss having him as a teacher after I get my degree.

Took his philosophy of education class, now In lethbridge and he is honestly the best education professor in the province. not ONE can touch him in lethbridge or mount royal. great classes, very fun. will hold on to things i learned in his class for the rest of my life. thank you for the experience of a lifetime stefan!

I took two of stefan's classes and he is by far the best teacher i have ever had. He cares so much for his students inside and outside the classroom. He is genuinly interested in you and yur views and opinions and not just how much you can memorize. He is ALWAYS available to help you and is there for you even if it has nothing to do with his class!

Oh, Stefan...Really enjoyed the classes, like many have said be prepared to speak up and defend everything you say. GO TO CLASS. He's pretty original, unique way of teaching. His classes are kind of a whirlwind, very interesting but be prepared to need a nap afterwards...They're kind of exhausting.
