Fun. Funny. Compelling. Likes to treat history like a story rather than a boring list of facts. More people should try out her classes. She takes diversity seriously...teaches African, Asian, South American, Native American and so on.

O.K. so it's not easy, it's not hard. It's compelling. I love the engagement with the difficult, if somewhat overlooked aspects of American culture.

Fabulous. It was hard, but it was the only class I actually never missed all semester because it was so interesting and engaging. We did a poetry slam and an incredible oral history project and worked in the community. I loved it!

Slightly disorganized and unclear. I was never quite sure what she wanted our essays and papers to look like, and when I asked her I didn't get many more answers. Professor Sandberg is very nice, however, and she seems to care about the things she teaches about.

Stephanie is one of my favorite professors at Calvin. She is very laid back. This is a co-taught class with Daniel Garcia from the film dept. and they bicker all the time in class. It's hilarious! If you ever have any problems, Stephanie is always willing to help you work things out. As long as you are doing your work!

Wonderful class. Prof. Sandberg offered great insights and looked at issues in a fresh way. She's very real...lets you know what she thinks and who she is. Very eye-opening discussions. Class was FUN too! Much laughter each class period. Don't be fooled, she is a tough grader, but I'm all the better for it.

Great class. I appreciated her challenge to think critically--she really did a great job of this. Somehow a lot of her comments refer to sex, which can be pretty funny. She's a great prof.

Great professor, albiet a bit flightly at times (but hey, she's a Drama chick, that's to be expected). Gives students plenty of individual attention, and truly seems to care about them.

Wacky? I guess so, but what's most impressive is her knowledge about culture. She's like a walking pop-culture handbook. Movies. Music (and I mean the stuff that we're all listening too), Comic Books, Novels, Poetry, Fashion. But the coolest thing of all is that she really loves God and you can see it in her spirit.

Great class. I don't know what people are talking about when they say she's "vague" or that she "favors theatre people", but I had a great time and learned a ton about culture in her class. It was fun, interesting, and excellent.

She is a fair prof even if a bit wacky sometimes. And what a wardrobe! Her attire truly rocks! If only I could keep my eyes off of her, I might do better in her class.

Very intelligent, good sense of humor. Most of the projects and papers are rather vaguely described, though, and they're a ton of work. Didn't enjoy spending that much time working for a core level class.

I hated this prof in every class I had her for; she favors theatre people, so if you're an "outsider" trying to take care of core, avoid her at all costs, she will ignore you and will not take the time to explain her theatre jargon.

I realized that this professor was amazing when she was warming up for a rehearsal, doing the splits, and discussing Heidegger with me at the same time. The intellectual's pin-up? Yeah, that would describe her.
