I loved this class! He made math applicable to life. As an English major, I am amazed that I enjoyed a math class. Because this class was super easy, I learned so much and found I love math and how it exists in our daily life and makes up our world. Do the homework, understand the concepts, do the practice test questions, and you'll do just fine.

I am horrible at math! But he made me love it (while in his class). He explained everything thoroughly. Did a long review before we took the test (which was helpful if I was still confused). Very respectful man. Easy to approach. Homework is easy, as long as you listen. Go to class to take notes! Take notes & listen and you'll get an A guaranteed.

A great choice for Calc 3. Homework is challenging sometimes, but tests are easy and straightforward. Writes fast on the board, but notes are good and clear. Accent takes a day or so to get used to but isn't a problem at all for understanding. Super helpful if you go to his office. All homework online-need code for WebAssign but not textbook.

Excellent professor. Lectures were a bit dry, but extremely clear, organized and filled with excellent examples. Homework was manageable and the tests were easy and exactly based off of the review sheets. If you don't mind an Indian accent, CHOOSE FERDINANDS. (Disclaimer: I only got a B+ because I didn't study for the final exam)

Comment:

Ferdinands is a great professor. Tests are very similar to example problems done in class and on WebAssign. He also gives review sheets that tell exactly what is on the tests. Lectures can feel long but he does slip in some good jokes if you pay close attention. Highly recommend!

He is an amazing prof. I would highly suggest taking his classes. He is very hard to understand at first because English is his second language, but after a while, you get used to it. His tests are easy because they are similar to the study guide he gives you a week before the test.

Although his lectures can be quite long and boring at times, he is extremely clear on what will be on his tests and are thus easy. WebAssign assignments were manageable and not long. He has an accent which takes a little bit getting used to, but will in no way prevent you from learning the material. I would recommend this professor.

Ferdinands is great! He's such a clear teacher. His lectures are a little fast, but nothing people couldn't handle. He is very, very thorough and there usually aren't any surprises on tests. I never went in to ask for help, but he's very approachable and seems eager to answer questions.

The class is boring, but if you take notes and study it's not too hard. The tests are fair. The prof makes jokes on occasion if you're lucky, but other than that he just straight lectures for 50 minutes so it's hard to stay awake.. and his handwriting needs some work. Other than that I'd recommend him!

What a great prof! Don't let his accent and downtrodden demeanor fool you, this man is a joy! He is extremely clear and is willing to help anyone who asks for it. A la Albus Dumbledore,"Help will always be given at Calvin College to those who ask for it." He really has a great sense of humor, as well, if you keep your mind open to it. What a smile!

I was nervous going into the class at first because of his accent, but it only took about a week to get used to. The homework was very manageable, and the tests were very reasonable. I found myself overprepared for exams. He is very helpful and has a very dry sense of humor. Pay attention so you don't miss his jokes!

This is my favorite prof at calvin! His tests are essay, along with his quizzes, final exam pretty hard. Takes a bit to get used to how he talks, but once u do, he is the best. He explains things in detail, and is always open to questions. Quite a bit of homework, but it is all really helpful, and tests/quizzes are based off of it. Awesome prof!

He is one of the most boring professors I have ever had. his voice makes you want to sleep. Although, the class itself isn't much better. His class is SUPER easy, homework is at most 5 questions and the exams are ridiculously easy. You almost dont need to study.
