Three 1000 word papers. 2 tests - a midterm and a final. Easy class and straightforward. She also offered extra credit. Read and attend class and take decent notes and you'll be fine. She's quirky but super nice.

Professor Plecker is so sweet and very caring. She really does her best to help you pass. There is a lot of reading, but she goes over each reading in class. The papers weren't too hard either. Professor Plecker is also really funny in lectures. Take her and you won't regret it!

Comment:

Dr. Plecker makes difficult Russian literature clear. Only 3 papers and two tests, and an extra credit opportunity. Very nice and funny, though somewhat shy. Loved her creative options for two of the papers!

Very personable and funny, makes the class enjoyable and is enthusiastic about the material. There's three papers, and both the midterm and final are comprised of a take home easy and in class assignment. Very doable, and she's very lenient with grades. Theres a ton of reading involved, so be prepared for that. You use the textbooks religiously FYI

Professor Plecker is a riot! She teaches Russian Literature but her lectures make it easy to comprehend. She's such a quirky, funny, and lovable woman. You only get a midterm and a final along with random reading quizzes (she is pretty lenient with them). The most challenging part of the class is the 2 papers because she grades pretty hard.

my last gen ed I had to take and not quite sure why she has good reviews... reading quizzes are hard even if you read, grades papers and mid-term hard. Gives like 3 quizzes which are worth 15% of your grade so if you mess up one it butchers your grade. Would never take with her again

Dr. Plecker is absolutely hilarious. She finds the humor in the darkest Russian novels, and sometimes lets her Alabama accent come through. There are three mediumish papers and a final creative project, and participation is expected in class. Do be prepared to read hundreds of pages every week, though.

Such an easy class. I didn't read any book or story and walked away with an A-. She explains everything in lecture just go to class and take notes. She's a really nice lady and very helpful. We had a take home mid-term and take home final. The 2 in class quizzes were 10 questions each and easy. If you don't get at least a B, you're miserable.

i love this class. russian isn't easy, but she really makes it as fun as possible. she's very clear, always gives notice of any tests or quizzes. alot of material, but tests and quizzes are usually pretty easy. brings fun things to class. she's very approachable understanding and loveable. i've taken her for two semesters and wish i could for more.

she's really an awesome teacher! russian is a hard language, so i'm not gonna say it's easy. she's very understanding, explains well, really down to earth and fun. she has a different wildly-designed shirt for every day. very cool. i'd highly recomend her. i'm taking her as long as i can.

I honestly wasn't sure if I'd like this class or not, but it's turned out to be one of my favorites. She is a really fun teacher and makes jokes about the authors. Likes to show videos. Two tests, both are essays. Readings aren't absolutely nessecary, but help. Definitely recommend this class! I'd take it again!

Such a nice woman. She hates people who chat in class, but loves people who ask questions. She is ALWAYS helpful and very nice about forgotten homework. The class is tough, russian is complex. I once had 3 tests in one day and she let me take hers a few days late. She is one of those professors who really feels more like a friend.
