Have any reason you may not be able to attend class every week? Don't take this course with him. He posts nothing on OWL, except for the homework assignment, which his TAs post. There are no lecture slides at all. You have to show up every week if you want to pass. I by the end I didn't understand one of the concepts because I missed that lecture.

He's an old fashioned guy, and isn't very computer savvy, but he knows what he's talking about, he cares about how you do, is always there for you no matter what if you need help, and will always given you over-time when writing exams. Don't be deterred by the negative responses he's gotten. If you work hard, you'll have no issues.

Tough class for 2000 level. Understanding and nice guy, but hardest course I've taken. No lectures slides provided; use of projector and chalkboard at times. Need to take lecture notes based on what he says.

So, when I first took this course I thought it was fine, and Dr. Lupker seemed like a pretty decent prof. However, you'll come to realize that if you're expecting the exam to be anything like the homework or quizzes every week, you're wrong. He's also somewhat condescending when you talk to him... There's a greenbook filled with questions, do them.

Would not recommend this class with him. He is difficult to follow and tends to ramble and jump between topics during lectures. It is made much more difficult by the fact that he doesn't use slides or post anything on OWL, and the few times he does write on the chalkboard his handwriting is illegible.

Difficult to understand. Does not post anything to OWL and lectures are solely based off of what he says. Barely helps students with understanding. Only helpful form is the virtual labs. He does not repeat himself or answer questions clearly. Is a tough marker and wants your answers to be insanely specific although he gives very broad questions.

I had him this term and prior to taking this course, I had no interest in perception. Dr. Lupker makes the concepts very interesting and he is a very knowledgeable person. If you want to do well in his course, attendance is absolutely mandatory (missing even 1 lecture is critical). I'd recommend this course with Dr. Lupker. Very interesting overall

Lupker has a unique teaching style. Essentially, you MUST attend every class, and don't need the textbook. His exams are short answer, so it's really about the studies and their methods, not individual facts. Really interesting prof to listen to, makes the material super fascinating. Highly recommend this course.

He teaches really well. It's interesting to actually learn from someone who knows what they are talking about. Very knowledgeable. ATTEND his classes! Though textbook readings are basically what he says anyway, his explanations are better. He does really take a cognitive view so it's all short answer and his questions make you think.

I love this guy. Made me so interested in Cognitive Psych. Just go to his lectures and pay attention, take notes as he talks and you'll be great! Ask him to clarify and he will, he really drives the point home and his tests are super easy if you get to the point and were paying attention!

Fantastic teacher. I didn't know much about cognitive psych before his class and now it's my favourite area. He's very smart and very fair, I highly recommend taking any course of his. Also, if you go to class you never need the book

You don't need to read the textbook because all tested material comes from lectures, but that means you must attend them all because he doesn't use slides. He does lectures without slides and shows how passionate and knowledgeable he is. Great prof, I loved his class. Short answer exams, you are rewarded if you pay attention and attend all classes.

Nice enough guy, but doesn't post lecture slides and won't respond to e-mail, so last-minute clarifications are out of the question. Also, all tests are short answer, so you need to know your material.

Horrible lectures. Nothing related to material that was actually tested on exams. Majority of the lecture was spent talking about nonsense, last 10 minutes was the only time needed to actually learn. wait until the combined exam, your average will be 20 percent lower than the other professor for this course guaranteed.

He was great. At the beginning of the semester he told us that if we attended class, we would not need to read the textbook. He didn't lie. He was clear, helpful, kind and interesting. I highly recommend him as a prof

The class was very interesting, and Lupker tought it extremly well. From the examples Lupker used, to the way he lectured, the class was the best Psych class of my year. The only thing I might suggest as an improvement is to print the names as his writing is not legible all the time. I'ld reccomend that you take this class with Lupker.
