Dr. Strehle is such a sweet man and a wonderful professor. I like his lecture-style classes, and it is clear that he is extremely knowledgable about the subject matter, while also being down to earth, approachable, and willing to explain it until you understand it. He presents both sides of arguments and really makes you thinks.

Had him for modern philosophy. Lots of lecturing. Doesn't post notes online. Quizzes are given infrequently and are based upon chapter readings (which are long). You get to use notes on quizzes. Midterm and Final are blue book and so long as you write well and with factual knowledge you'll be good

For this class, I had to buy 4 or 5 brand new books he wrote which are expensive. They are not available used. He is a tough grader until you realize that he is looking for random facts in the paper tests to show you actually read the material. Class discussions were difficult to participate in because he doesn't like people to disagree with him.

I took it to fulfill a requirement and I thought it would be easy. Unless you really interested in the material I would not suggest taking it. The lectures are long and not too interesting. The textbook does not help much either. The tests are all written in a blue book and require about a page to get an A. I would not recommend.

Professor Strehle knows what he's talking about, he just does not do a good job getting the information across. Its and open lecture class, you have an outline but the only notes you get are the ones he says during lecture. This wouldn't be bad if he didnt talk fast and repeated him self, it's impossible to get good notes. Lots of reading, goodluck

I took this class to fulfill an AofI and regret picking it. He is the most monotone man I have ever encountered. He'll occasionally get excited about something and start bobbing his head, but lectures are long and boring. Grades for the class are the midterm and final, plus 2 reading quizzes and a paper. Would not recommend this course.

Do not take Strehle if you are not interested in the material. If you are interested than definately take every class he offers. I personally love him and have taken 4 of his courses. You will not work hard other than 3 times a semester. 1 paper and 2 exams mostly. Lectures. Really funny.

Strehle is a smart man. He knows his topic very well. He mainly only lectures from an outline and goes over readings. Hardly any homework. The midterm and final are straight essay questions. His quizzes are truefalse and are only 5 questions which can be hit or miss. It is not a hard class if you put just a small amount of effort.

Prof. Strehle sits at the front of the class with his outline and just lectures. If you can take notes between his ranting and meaningless stories he is a fine teacher. His quizzes are kinda tough mostly only 5 true or false questions, then his tests are all essays. The class its self is somewhat interesting, but I hated trying to take notes.

Best professor I've had thus far. His exams are a bit tough and require hours and hours of studying but I have learned so much from him. He is willing to help out in any way possible. If you miss a class, you will miss a lot of information but his class is interesting so it's not one that you want to miss anyways.

PAY ATTENTION in this class. Laptops are allowed, but don't let it distract you. Listen closely in lectures (which can be dry at times) to get all the test answers. Quizzes are all T/F so can go really badly or really well, if you read. He's super nice. Let me turn in paper SO LATE without marking off because I had a real reason. Very understanding

Not horrible but also not an 8 am class. Lots of mandatory reading which is where most of the info comes from. In class you listen to him get off topic and explain vaguely each philosopher.

Hebrew Bible. I had him for an 8am.. was worried, I'd fall alseep, but I ended up finding his lectures very engaging, awesome proffessor, listen to what he says, and respond, the best classes were when people actually responded to the ideas brought up

Worst professor I've ever had. His lectures are painfully boring and impossible to follow. He provides no notes and never posts anything online. I didn't know my grade until the end of the semester. ALL TRUE/FALSE TESTS. I will say that he's an extremely intelligent person and knows what he's talking about.

Thw readings are crucial, true/false format for tests and quizzes. Make sure to take notes following the outline he gives at the beginning of the semester. When doing the readings only take notes on the parts on the outline because that̢۪s all he tests on.

This class is really really tough. The teacher does make lots of funny jokes though. If you get put into here I recommend that you drop this class and pick up another class instead. Though you do have few homeworks the tests are impossible and are in a True/False format for about 80 questions. If you study it is possible, but it is very difficult.

I have been friends with doctor Strehle since I took his first class freshman. It's been a while since I took his class but he's an interesting professor, if you visit during office hours and actually try to get a good grade he will help you understand the material, I like his exams, all essays which allows you to show off everything you know.

This was the most challenging class I have taken at CNU. Strehle's quizzes and exams are really tough, especially if you've never taken a philosophy course before. All of the questions are true or false. Grade is based on tests and quizzes only. If you talk to him before a test during his office hours its very helpful!

The worst teacher I have ever had. I am a straight A student. Stay away from him. Gives out pop-quizes and has a Mid term and Final which he doesnt give higher than a 95 percent.
