He grades the project generously if you do everything you are supposed to. Tests are fine if you study for them. Every Friday we would watch an episode of Mad Men. This was a fun class I really enjoyed it.

Loved having him for a professor. He is very funny and basically forces you to participate which is nice since it is a part of your grade. Very passionate about his teaching. Gives a lot of quizzes but drops lowest grade and most of them were online

Professor Gerdes is such a sweet person. He's funny, caring, and being in his class was the highlight of my semester. The class isn't super easy, but it's certainly bearable. We debate controversial issues, he lectures, and we give our opinions of the topic. I didn't find it necessary to do the readings, although he assigns them.

Most boring class I've ever taken in my life. He basically reads wikipedia summaries and adds in a few quotes. Do not take if you actually like the material because he makes it extremely boring. Do take if you need to fill a requirement and you don't mind sitting through boring lectures

Very easy class. Gerdes is actually a very smart guy, but his mind is always blurred. Take this class if you want an easy grade, not if you want inspiration. And don't worry halfway through if you think you are doing badly. You aren't

Monotone voice, doesn't cover anything, the topic sucks and I suppose that isnt his fault, but he seems to make no effort to make it interesting.

His class is pretty easy, but do not get over confident. The tests are harder than you might expect from his unhelpful lectures. Very nice helpful guy, but if you want to learn, read the book, don't take notes.
