Comment:
Steve's comp. religion class was really enjoyable. He does a great job of portraying the different religions objectively, as well as showing the beauty in them all. He tries to build bridges between faiths and encourage the idea of interconnectedness. His tests were easy and the reading wasn't necessary to do well on the tests.

He was an amazing teacher that honestly changed my life and i see everyone as one race now. The learning about the religion was interesting. Easy class just use your notes from class only tests on what he ssays. I HIGHLY reccommend him . I got an A and all you got to do is listen and take some notes but most importantly open up your heart.

This class was pretty easy. No homework, just reading which you don't even have to do, he only tests you on the stuff he explains in class. You have to do good on the tests because that's all your grade is made up of. Sometimes it was a bit confusing but eventually by the next lecture things would get cleared up.

This class was too easy, it involved very little to no thought. There was no real course material and nothing to accurately grade students off of. Every test that we turned in was sent back with a letter grade, no points of indications to tell us why we got that grade. No one knew what to expect on the final, we weren't ever really told.

Amazing class. Amazing. This class is very easy and very interesting. I never read anything, just took good notes in class and listened to what he was saying. He is incredibly educated and knows these religions really well. Very interesting class. He teaches everything from a neutral perspective, which to many is important. HIGH RECOMMENDATION. :)

Class is easy. I learned a very minimal amount and hardly attended class because it was so boring. I have never been interested in the topic so maybe that's why.. idk. Teacher is very nice and helpful though, just boring.

I really really like Steve, he is very humble and nice. He does go off subject at time and answers questions in a way that makes sense to him, but is hard for the students to follow. I didn't do much of the reading but passed the class with flying colors. Please note that he does not assign homework and does not allow notes during exams.

I really liked this class. There is no homework except reading to study for the exams. All of the tests had essay questions, but he doesn't grade on your English skills, only how well you grasp the material. This teacher was great. Not the most energetic guy, but he is very passionate about teaching philosophy. I would definitely take him again.

Enjoyed the class very much, lectures are very important in order to succeed on the tests. the tests consist of 5-10 questions regarding topics covered in class, if you attend class and read through the lectures &/or meet for coffee with your peers to discuss the material. He is looking for specific answers and there is no length requirement.

Bernstein is an amazing prof. He's an incredible source of information, yet manages to be a really humble and down to earth guy. I thought I knew a decent amount about religion but this class showed me that I didn't know very much at all. No tedious homework, just 4 tests that you will do well on if you pay attention to him in class. Take him!

You can tell that Professor Bernstein really cares about this subject and enjoys teaching it. There was no homework and the reading was not mandatory, but the information is all there. It is a bit scarier when your grade depends on only a few tests, but he really sets up the environment for those who truly want to learn the material.

I loved this class. Bernstein is unbiased and he knows his stuff. The only criticism I have is that he goes off topic a lot. This class covers the philosophical ideas behind the different religions, not the facts about them.

He is intellectually insightful. He requires little if no homework (reading is required). But with that said he is a very hard teacher(grading tests). If thinking scares you find a different teacher. Prepare for a true philosopher to break insight into how you think. PS you will Fight for that A.

Steve is an excellent teacher. He is thoughtful about his topic and presents all religions with the same unbiased, open-minded approach. He intersperses his lectures with relevant stories and anecdotes which keeps everyone in class spellbound. I learned so much! Steve is one of the best teachers I've ever had! Absolutely, take this class!

I hate all philosophy classes but this was much better than Phil6, the subject matter was understandable. Steve is adorable in that he gets so excited over the topics, smiles and shakes his little head, but sometimes he peters off topic. No homework and 3 HARD exams. I love him for passing me.

This class was awesome. Tests are mult. choice and essay. If you study well & know the concepts, you'll do well. Reading the book helped me a lot. Lectures are really interesting and he's totally unbiased. He encourages students to find the religion that fits them. It's phil. based, so it's all about the ideas behind the religions - but it's great!
