I don't understand the negative reviews on here! Professor Maher may be tough but he's a great professor who cares for his students. He gives clear explanations :) A little intimidating at first but he'll warm up to you if you show interest in his class and ask him questions! Don't expect an easy A, though (although he's fair and an A is doable!)

Professor Maher is a graduate level professor, so expect nothing less from him. He will help you with assignments if you go to him, but his class topics are tough. I took ECA with him and it was one of the easiest classes I've ever taken. Embedded Systems and HDL, however, are not easy.

Oh God his main objective is to give you worst grade. He don't appriciate your work and always create problem. His labs are unclear, hard to understand. He never answer the problem by thinking student will know the solution. Really want him to go back to Intel. He don't like international students. I regretfully stating that i took three courses.

Maher is a terrible teacher. He missed about a fourth of our class sessions in which he gave us a quiz in lue of his lecture. The homework generally has nothing to do with his in class examples which are few and far between. Labs are unclear and often difficult to understand. If you ask for help he'll laugh before pointing you to Google. Terrible!
