Absolutely brilliant! World's leading Arthur Miller scholar. His lectures are RIVETTING; it never felt like a chore to sit for three hours and hear him speak and/or facilitate discussions about American Lit. If you're a serious English student, don't miss an opportunity to take his class (best in my opinion was Modernism).

very knowledgable but very unreasonable and unrealistic. tests are graded very subjectively and won't be returned until you have forgotten you even took a test/what it was about. our first test was returned a MONTH (no exaggerations) later and our second one has yet to be returned he is always 10-15 minutes late for class

My all time favorite professor at Millersville. I had Intro to Lit, and then Early Amer. Lit. Inspired me to become an English major. Enthusiastic and clearly knowledgeable in his field of professing. Open-minded. Unbiased interpretations of lit keep classes interesting. He is to be admired, respected, and TAKEN! Serious, take him! Very happy.

One of the best classes ever. A lot of lecture, but if you had quality comments to contribute, he would allow it. I really felt I had learned a lot and contributed to class. Tests were incredibly enjoyable, got to write essays on advanced topics. Finally, a class that respects graduate students and presents them with appropriate material.

Before I took this Arthur Miller class, I hated Arthur Miller. Centola had us read all of his works, so I got a new perspective on Miller because of it. Class had some good discussions, although some students attacked others unnecessarily. Centola is like the PREMIER Miller scholar, so it is a great opportunity to have a class with him.

Most passionate prof I've encountered in 4 yrs at MU. Lead great discussions in class. Challenged you to think about the meanings w/in the drama and poetry. Loved going to his class, will take more!

19 class periods, 17 plays to read. Five repsone essays on whatever we want, no quizzes, tests, or projects. Lectures were interesting at first, then became dreadfully long and boring towards the end. I immediately took a nap after most class periods, it got that boring.

He is great. He grades really easy, and he actually teaches information that will be useful in most people's future. Except for the Long Sales Proposal the class was a walk in the park, and if you take him over summer its even better.

very knowledgeable, straight-forward, interesting, and personable prof. Had three classes with him and enjoyed every single one. Assignments are easy to handle. However, some people seem to be taking advantage of him not taking attendance - he was very upset about that this semester. Must-take prof!

Dr. Centola loves drama and I would recommend you take a drama class with him. He can talk forever on one play, but it is interesting. Do the work and he will be satisfied.
