Darwin really likes plants and he makes you like them too. Enthusiasm! One of the most enjoyable and useful courses I've taken as a bio major. Weekly quizzes keep you up on the material. Technical terms, but not overwhelming. Easy to talk to.

This is an eye-opening course, and Prof. Darwin knows his stuff. Lots of terms and names to know, but I feel like I'm really learning something.

He calls you out for leaving class to use the bathroom... WTF? Plants are boring, he didn't make them interesting.

Overall a great professor, his Darwinism class was alot of reading but if you don't get it all in its no big deal. As long as you can write decent essays and make it to class, all you'll need to do is take some notes and you'll be fine.

Smart guy, very easy to talk to, and I liked the lectures, but I never had any idea what was on the test. I know my grade probably won't reflect the insane amount of studying I did. Maybe it's just me, but this was only hard because he tried to make the tests easy, taking out what seemed important and using what seemed superfluous.

plant and human affairs isnt hard if you are willing to spend the time to memorize the plant names. you dont have to go to class and if you do its hard to pay attention anyway. i went to class and did other hw in there, only half paying attention and made A's on the tests. just read the book and memorize the handouts and plant names. its not bad

Darwin is one of the best lecturers if you have an ounce of interest in the subject. You learn interesting things. The tests aren't bad; yes there is lots of memorization of scientific names and definitions, know which spp. are monocot/dicot and temperate/trop. Fair grader, reading text helps, most everything in lecture, but goes fast sometimes

Plants and Human Affairs Lab is awesome, take it if you can, you get to make the coolest stuff, and its not graded like other labs, you just have to be there and participate. Its interesting and there is lots of taste testing and it helps with learning lecture material. Best lab ever.

Darwin and Darwinism: this course requires that you do all assigned readings, go to every class, and participate regularly; class is very indepth and intersting, his lectures put you in the time period and all aspects of evolution are explored in detail. there are only four papers, three of which make up your grade (2,3,5,8 pgs).

Lots of memorization. Write everything down, he'll test you over the the most arbitrary things. Other than that, just memorize, memorize, memorize. Cool teacher though, very passionate about plants. Fun class.

Great Professor, but class is only interesting if you like science a lot. The tests are insane. So much to memorize. But Professor Darwin is dope. C'mon, a professor who began first day with the statement: "I am a plant"?

Funny guy, but really crazy hard tests. His class was an approved elective for Int'l Development, but has nothing to do with that subject. If you're an INDV major, steer clear of his classes
