Worst class I had to take as an undergrad and very disrespectful in person. Normally do well on written tests but his were too vague and poorly graded, not approachable about questions either.

I don't know what everyone's talking about. Harvey is smart, wise, knows like everything but he cannot teach for the sake of his life. Notes are disorganized beyond measure. I was frustrated the whole time in this course simply because of no organization and also contradictory points in slide sets

He may be old, but he is wise, and this course certainly won't lose your interest. Would recommend, and definitely looking to take more courses with him.

Nice guy, tough tests. I'm a Neuro student and this was my least favourite course. He claims the class is based on "understanding concepts", but it was mostly memorization. His notes are disorganized. I generally like written exams, but it was very difficult to get all of the points he was looking for. Studying did not help.

Yes, this is a tough course but as long as you come to class, take good notes and learn the concepts (as opposed to memorizing facts) you will do just fine. I think Dr.Harvey is a good professor: highly knowledgeable, funny and fair. Exams are essay format but speculating an answer can get you marks so long as you have facts to back it up

NOT an easy physiology course. Tests are essay style,no drawings or point form, allowed and arbitrarily marked. A question could be out of 6, and someone could get 100 for having 3 points mentioned, whereas others would get 0 for having 10 points. However, Harvey is hilarious. if you are smart and willing to study (memorize) HARD, take the class.

Straightforward class. Responds to e-mails quickly and is clear about exams. The only downside is that he doesn't do office hours.

This class is easy but Dr. Harvey is less than inspiring. His notes are outdated, confusing and poorly organized. He reads straight off powerpoints during lectures. He snaps at students who ask questions. He seems to be suffering from hearing loss. His speech is sometimes slurred. Glad its over and I won't be taking another of his classes.

Dr.Harvey is a great prof and I suspect any of the bad reviews were from students expecting their grade to be handed to them. Come to class, pay attention, read the notes thoroughly and you'll do great. Exams are entirely written but if you are clear and provide appropriate detail you'll do well

I would avoid this one if you can. His notes were pretty decent (though sometimes contradictory), but he tests like no other prof I've ever had. He will test you on seemingly trivial details, even points that were briefly mentioned once and never again. I did good on his section, but had to work extremely hard for it.

Taught Endocrine & Reproduction. Attendance is a must. His notes contain a lot of concepts not in the textbook, and are sometimes confusing & disorganized. Exam questions are extremely detailed, so make sure you know the material thoroughly. Make sure you do all the practice questions before the exam! Some of them will show up on the actual test!!

First off overall if you are looking for an easy Physiology 400 level course then i would recommend physio 400. That being said there isn't really that much physiology involved after the first third of the class. I did learn a lot of interesting things though but you must really memorize and combine his notes yourself. Tests are written response

The class itself is very interesting, and there's not much material. However, because the exams are written, you have to know all of it very well. In my opinion, the exams were excruciatingly hard because no matter how much I wrote, I never got a very good mark. Always missed a couple points.

Really good prof. Unfortunately his exams always flustered me so I never did as well as I would have liked, but I learned a lot from the class. He marks the paper very fairly and is super nice in person, don't hesitate to go see him. And he's actually pretty hilarious when you get used to his style of humor.

Great Prof. Most of the complaints on here are probably from people who did poorly in his class. Just study hard and pay attention and you'll do well. He's very approachable and his "pre-lectures" are important so pay attention to those.

Dr. Harvey has a really great set of notes, but he likes to test on really specific concepts. Make sure you memorize everything that you can. Other than that, great prof.

Interesting to listen to in class - he shows a lot of pictures and interesting news stories. However, notes are difficult to study from (too long, too much detail) and his portion of the MC exam was incredibly difficult. Make sure you study all the diseases thoroughly.
