Father Kostoff is a great person. He's very passionate about the Orthodox Church and is very knowledgeable. I enjoyed having him as a professor and found him to be quite funny at times. He is also very clear in what he expects on tests, assignments, and papers. This class has very few papers and tests. It is very heavily lectured based.

Makes the class easy to understand and really knows the material. His tests can be a little hard if you don't start studying a couple days in advance.

Overall a nice guy. He is very old-fashioned and teaches class as if he is preaching in church. There are no power points and he leaves many things unexplained. He also gets distracted very easily. He is a picky grader when it comes time for tests. In my opinion, he is way past his time for teaching.

Lectures using the blackboard and throws key terms and concepts out randomly. Have to take notes. Class goes by fast. He is HILARIOUS when he goes on his rants about off topic discussions. Humor takes away from the boringness. Tests are easy, normally terms and an essay, few papers, but is a picky grader.

Not too bad of a class, must attend class though. Class consists of him lecturing and you taking notes the whole time. Theres 2 papers, and 4 tests (including the final). He's a pretty quirky guy and knows what he talks about very well. The class takes a bit of effort to get an A.

For Eastern Orthodox theology. He was easy as he gave study guides before the exams, but I dont know anyone who got an A in the class because of the two papers. Grades difficult, and quite boring.

Easiest class in the world. Never bother doing the reading: only gives about one little "surprise" quiz a semester. Just take detailed notes in class and memorize every answer for the study sheets he gives you. Interesting when giving his opinion or when info is unique to the Orthodox, but other times very dull and goes on long digressions.

Fr. Kostoff was a good teacher. Overall: simple class; if you want something easier you shouldn't go to Xavier. He gives study guides for tests and asks you to do a small book report. Teacher is very kind and informative about the area, he's an Eastern Orthodox priest!

Fr. Kostoff is a nice guy and he gives study guides for his test. Memorization is the lowest form of learning and get ready to regurgitate a lot of information and then immediately forget it. Easy class if you can sit through it.

Great teacher. Will offer help whenever needed. Will give you study sheet for exams which are short answer IDs and essays. Best teacher I've had here. He adds sarcastic comments into class each day!
