Comment:
This was one of the hardest classes I've taken. The Quizes are really rushed and his loud conversations with his assistant were very distracting during the midterms. The only reason I made it out with a good grade was because he scaled it so I'm guessing the rest of the class did pretty bad too.

I would not recommend Mosimann at all! His exams are killer... Do NOT take this class (with him) on a full schedule. There's no way you can put in enough time to even pass if you're taking 5 courses. Very difficult to listen to, he will be very thorough if you can stay awake to listen to him. But his exams are very rushed and extremely difficult.

There was no textbook required. The material links together really nicely. The project was very long. Go talk to him throughout the process, it's really helpful!

Fantastic grading scheme. If you don't do well on midterms, and if you do better on the final, then the final mark erases midterm marks. He is such a wonderful prof! Love him!

Comment:
Steve explains concepts very well and is very knowledgeable. However, he is EASILY the hardest marker I have ever had at this school. Questions are abstract "applications" that you have no chance of getting full marks on. He treats undergrads like we all have our PhD's in biochemistry. Unbelievably condescending and rude when marking exams.

Steve is a great professor, he really is, but the expectations for both courses I took from him were ridiculous. I sacrificed my entire life for As in his lectures, and I'm not sure it was worth it in either case. Memorization won't be all that useful in his classes - memorizing alone won't give you a passing grade. Beware of application questions

Steve is an awesome and very great instructor. He cares deeply about his students and their performance, unlike many other professors. One of the best professors I have ever encountered. He should even be awarded for his teaching and committment.Students need to quit saying he is bad because they did not do good or did not study. He knows his stuff

Steve is awesome! He's a joy to listen to and explains the material and the exams extremely clearly. He goes into detail regarding his expectations for the class, and a poor mark is the result of a refusal to heed those guidelines. By far the best class I've ever taken.

Steve is a fantastic professor, explains bio and chemistry concepts more clearly than profs that specialize in one of the two fields. His class is demanding, but rewarding.

Just finished my second year and he is my favorite prof so far. Explains everything very well and tells you what he expects/have to memorize. The worst mark I have received from any class, but I felt I learned the most. A+

Had him for 3 Biochemistry classes, a lot of negative reviews are probably made after the first quiz (Which he loves to kill everyone on, and tells you he will). Then you realize you better damn well study and you end up kicking the classes ass and learning a lot in the process. He's also always good for a cool story or interesting tangent. A+ Guy
