Took him this Fall for Com 1000. His lectures are good, always full of stories and examples. 75% of your grade is based on 3 exams, you actually take 4, but he drops the lowest grade. The other 25%is on easy little quizzes or surveys. he Does not use + and - grading

Professor Neel seems to be a nice guy. His tests can be challenging though. He drops one test and one quiz, which is nice, but he doesn't excuse anything else, no matter what the reason. He gets upset when people don't participate, but he kinda struggles to make lectures engaging.

Professor Neel is a great guy that genuinely cares about his students. If you go talk to him during office hours or after class he is super helpful and receptive, really wants to help you succeed. 4 exams total (including final) all online but he drops the lowest one. Weekly modules that are super easy and entertaining lectures once a week.

He's an alright professor, super easy class, but gets butthurt like a child at least 5 times a class when people don't respond to his remarks. I was in the hospital and sent him an email describing my situation with a doctors note. He said it wasn't his problem and then proceeded to lecture me about my time management skills. Easy class, bad person

Professor Neel is a great professor. I came to class the first three weeks and then came every so often after that, he puts everything on the power point. He really cares about his students and gives you his number if you need to contact him (replies usually very quick).

3 tests and multiple quizzes, as well as three discussions. An easy class, but if you have a busy schedule he isn't very accommodating. Only leaves tests open for a 24 hour period, and if you miss it he won't let you take it on a different day.

Neel is amazing! Attendance isnt mandatory but I really enjoyed going to his class. Everything is online, theres a quiz almost every week with about 5 attempts. You take 4 tests but only 3 are included in your grade, the final is optional and will replace your lowest test grade. Also extra credit!!

Really awesome professor for a really easy class. I only got a B because I just didn't care enough to bother for an A honestly. If I put even one ounce of effort in I could've pulled an A. Don't bother buying the textbook. Attendance wasn't mandatory but I actually enjoyed coming to class.

This man is absolutely ridiculous. I'm in the honors college so I would consider myself to be a good student, and I received low grades on both papers. After asking him how to improve/what I did wrong, he was completely unable to give me a coherent response. I do not recommend taking him; this is the only time I have had an issue with a professor.

Prof Steve is a caring and funny professor who tries to make everyone involved and will willingly work with you if something comes up. Online quizzes each week are easy, a few tries each. Exams are online and proctored and hard even with the study guide. It's also pretty much impossible to get an A in the class if you don't get As on the tests..

I took Steve Neel's COM 1000 class the summer going into my freshmen year of college. I took it in class over summer B. He is one of the best professors I have had so far. His lectures are hilarious and he tells the best stories. There were 3 tests, with the final being optional. I got As on every test and he gives you a study guide.

Super lax professor. Super clear webcourse. Class once a week that is great to attend but not necessary to pass. I would go to class tho because he's really awesome as a person. He has guest speakers and extra credit. Do the work and pass

Literally didn't go to class once and got a B. Super easy just do the work. I've heard he is a great professor but couldn't get up early enough tbh. All tests and quizzes are online but are proctored. Tough grader on the papers and won't explain why he gave you the grade. I reached out several times and never got an email back. Oh well.

Mr. Neel knows how to keep his class engaged, he's hilarious!! There's an online module with a short video or powerpoint and then a quiz weekly. Tests were online with the online proctor which made me really nervous. I found that reading the textbook was how I best prepared for tests. Super easy class overall

Neel was a wonderful professor! Hes hilarious and really makes his lectures interesting. I truthfully never opened my textbook after reading chapter 1 and I never used to the access code either, so honestly Id save your money there. As long as you go to class to get the PowerPoint information you pass with a breeze.

Steve is one of the most well respected Communications Professors at UCF. I've taken him for COM1000 and for COM3003. Steve, if you're reading this, you're the reason I changed my major to Communication. He makes learning fun and easy and portrays the material in a way that anyone could relate to. He's extremely friendly, funny and helpful.

I took this class over summer and cracked open my book for the last test and passed with a B. I barely went to class but when I did Prof. Neel was HILARIOUS! I got a D on the first two tests and still passed the class. I would def take again. He drops the lowest test score

Took Professor Neel my first semester at UCF for summer B and loved him! He truly cares about his students and makes class enjoyable. His tests are very straightforward and a lot of times he will say questions to the test in his lecture. Would definitely take him again!
