Comment:

Super easy class, two tests that are both a breeze, one of which is take home. Only complaint about this class is the group project. He gives very vague instructions and likes to grill people during presentations, but you basically get an A if you participate so it's only but so bad.

Dr. Frysinger is the man. His lectures are very sporadically important but he is funny and he is ABSOLUTELY willing to help you with anything. Nicest professor I have taken at ISAT so far and really suggest him to anyone.

Really Funny! learned a lot about climate change from him and Goodall. attendance not mandatory. Caution! GISAT 100E is all high school physics and chemistry so If your really bad at science, you should rethink about it. Curved 2 letter grades becuase class average was either D+ or C-

Really connects with students, and is dedicated to helping them learn the material in a respectful environment. His presentation can be a bit risque, but that helps keep us awake! Totally dedicated and capable teacher.

Prof. Frysinger is really cool, but he's not a good teacher. His PowerPoints are extensive, but the information in them never seems to be fully absorbed by anyone in the class. He is unclear about deadlines and often stacks multiple assignment due dates on the same day. The labs are not hard, but the results are not often reliable.

This professor is an extremely intelligent man, but has difficulty getting material across to the class. Grades on the 1st exam were horrible, so he gave us an easier retake test. Labs are not that bad, and usually get done early. Only had recitation probably 3-4 times the entire semester. His understanding that the exams were hard makes him okay.

he makes this class REALLY interesting. there's a fair amount of work, and tests can be a bit difficult, but if you're actually interested in learning this is a great class and teacher to take. most of the labs seem to an easy A.

Too much work for a gen ed. science course - homework and labs were very, very extensive and took up a lot of time. Lectures were pretty boring & there was a lot of info. to remember. Frysinger & his TAs were helpful and nice but the course was not easy at all.

Great teacher! He's not easy, but if you're willing to put in the effort he'll go out of his way to help you do well in this course. He clearly loves this topic, and has lots of experience in it (which means lots of stories too! :). The cop stories are fun too!

He made it apparent he didn't like teaching the class. No designated office hours. On two occasions, I waited almost 3 hours and still received no help. It's my worst experience at JMU. I got As in other programming classes. I can program in JAVA but I walked away from the class and learned nothing.

Too busy being a Harrisonburg cop and going to Germany to actively teach the class. He stays in class during evaluations and leaves during exams (shouldn't it be the other way around?) But, he only gets paid $70,000 a year, why should that require him to make his best effort? Oh yeah, nice guy.

Hilarious guy. Very nice and very clear in his teachings, but his tests are kinda hard. On the other hand, most programming classes have hard tests. I recommend this guy if you want to learn the material, but you will have to work hard for the grade.
