He really knows his stuff and any criticism he gives is very constructive and helpful. Nice guy too. Needs to explain the camera better because a lot of students didn't even know how to focus the lens. Also, it isn't necessarily bad, but he makes up his lesson plan as he goes along. If you are taking COM110 and are ready to work hard: TAKE PLANCK!

I LOVE Planck. His class is so much fun. Very helpful guy, knows his stuff and wants to teach it to you. He will bring you out of your shell. This guy is legit. Can't say enough good things about him, wish I had taken 101 and 103 with him too. Don't slack off - he doesn't just hand out A's. Gave me confidence in my work like no other teacher has.

His labs are very hands on, and his lectures are extremely informative.The notes i took in his class have helped me throughout the whole com program.If you are lazy and don't want to learn,he is not for you,but if you want to go places, the essentials he teaches will make all the difference.

Planck is a good guy. talented (maybe won't show it in class, but if you are in the COM dept enough you may get a hint that he is pretty good at what he does at least). I agree, he is moody. kind of a hard grader also. if you stick w/ his class he's ok.

After taking this class I moved on in the program to Com110. I was amased at how little the other students had learned in 101. If you are intested in learning, Planck is an excellant teacher. If you want an easy A - don't take his class. He expects you to work for your grade; like it should be.
