Nice guy, talks a lot when he gets into a topic. Be prepared to know more about Willa Cather than you ever wanted to know. But he's a great guy, will help with anything (just make sure he knows your name, he has trouble remembering).

He's a pretty funny guy, so it's easy to pay attention and be involved in the discussion. There is lots of class input in his literature class, so it makes it interesting. He expects you to actually read the material, and also to remember your Comp. basics for writing. He's very helpful and will always make time to meet. Just ask him.

Seems to like to talk...a lot. He is extremely helpful, but he also is boring. Classes are monotonous and seem pointless at times. Depending on what class you are, he will have you do a research paper and is unclear on how to do it. He changed they way we were supposed to do things several times. He also give little to time to write the essays

I agree...Shively is a stud-muffin. In addition, he is a very helpful professor. His classes are not difficult if you're there to learn. And he's so genuinely cheerful, it's difficult not to be interered in what he's teaching. Thumbs up.

Wonderful pleasent prof. Happy and smiling most of the time. He is very knowledgeable about Willa Cather, and she is a good way to get on his good side...He talks about falic symbols alot...a whole lot.
