Comment:

Professor Allison is an incredible mentor, professor, and human being. I never thought I'd be interested in Biology (I am a humanities major) but his classes were interesting and meeting with him outside of class helped me know him more as a person. I don't plan on taking more science courses, but the class with him was great!

Comment:

Easily the most well liked prof in the department, due to the fact that he is more organized than most. Lectures are easy to follow, if you read the book beforehand. Puts too much text on PowerPoint slides, but makes them available online. Tests are demanding, but there are no confusing questions -- if you know the material, you'll be great!

Prof. Allison is passionate, intelligent, helpful, and overall a genuinely nice person. His teaching style includes powerpoints, but they are always informative and include pictures and discussion. He prepares students well for exams and the exams are very reasonable. As a suggestion, he could offer additional help when writing term papers.

Comment:

Very approachable and down-to-earth. Likes to lecture based on Powerpoints, but still explains things well. A great professor all around. Only weak point is that his politics occasionally spill into his lecture, but he isn't an ideologue and is willing to listen. A main emphasis on tests is vocabulary--make sure you know your definitions!
