Very interesting and humorous, but he goes on tangents quite frequently. Not that that's necessarily bad... Overall I learned alot from him. I'm not sure how old he is, but I heard rumor when I was a freshman that he was like 92 lol

Though he is somewhat strange, one cannot discount that he "knows his stuff", if you will. He also cares about his students very much as everyone knows, and that speaks volumes not only of his character but also of his devotion to his profession. He also keeps you on your toes in his classes and makes it so that it's somewhat fun and not so much of a chore to attend sessions.

He is a foundation at the university; he has been teaching at USAO for over 40 years. Meltzer is well-read and somewhat of an intellectual, but he is ignorant of today's culture and music, and tends to be overly opinionated about it. He also goes off-topic quite often and tends to dwell too much on social issues, instead of actually teaching. This might appeal to some of you, but I want to be challenged.

I loved Prof. Meltzers classes. He knew his stuff and made you think! He's my favorite professor so far! I hope he never retires because USAO will definitely be at a loss! I recommend his class to everyone! Truly inspiring! :)
