Comment:
Take this class only if you have photographic memory. I did all of the required work and still had trouble on the tests because he throws trick questions your way and puts obscure and unimportant information on the tests. Not only do you need to read everything, you need to memorize all of it, even what seems unimportant.

Not sure why so many people have rated Mr. Susnick poorly. He's a great guy and really knows what he's talking about! His class can be difficult but if you make an effort and do your work you will get an A no doubt. It is essential that you watch the lectures and take notes - other than that you just enjoy the films and participate in the boards!

The best instructor I have had in my life. In my eight years of college he stood out as the best and most memorable one. His delivery was meaningful and spoke with charisma.

STUDY!!!! I cannot express this enough. No extra credit is offered, and the practice exams only give you structure, not content. Make sure you know the films, directors, genres, techniques, and history of the films' era. He's a great teacher, and very passionate, but a firm and tough grader. Do as many discussion boards, to ensure full credit.

Those who were disappointed by this class, probably took it under the impression it would be "an easy credit" or a "blow off" class. Susnick cares about his students success, and makes himself available to those who want it. There is no reason you shouldn't pass this class, especially with his encouragement and straight forward attitude.

He was a really good teacher. I took International Cinema with him online. I needed an online humanities class that would transfer to the four year school I'm going to and this was one of few calsses I could choose from. While the topic itself was of almost no interest to me he really did a good job teaching, helping and challenging the students. He was very clearn in what he expected of the students, and if you had a question or issue he would respond to your email right away. He was always very nice, and even tried to inject humor into the course. Considering the class is based around watching and reviewing foreign films it was suprisgnly hard. The class requires a lot of time. You not only have to watch the films, but also read text about that eragenre, and listen to his online lectures. If you are in for an academic challenge, his class is for you.

If you're looking to take Cinema just for a humanities requirement, look somewhere else. This guy takes his job way too seriously. He makes the class difficult because in his words: "college should be difficult". As a 6'+ tall guy, I would have rather taken dance than to trudge through this busy work. I like the films but constant notes ruin them.

I took this class online. He is very comfortable lecturing in front of a camera, which makes his online lectures nice to watch. I didn't think the class was hard at all. However, if you are planning to take it, be VERY careful about the due dates. If you miss anything, don't come crying to him unless your tragedy makes it to the newspaper.

Missed test for family emergency. Susnick stuck by his word from the syllabus and I couldn't make it up. Retook and aced class. Straight forward, values hardworking intelligent minds and really knows his stuff. Lucky to get the chance to peer into the inner workings of his brain. Pushes you to push yourself. A dork in the best sense of the word.

The class itself is very interesting and there is a lot of discussion. Prior to taking this class I really didn't have an interest in Int. Cinema but I enjoyed this class. AS far as Susnick goes, he is a VERY VERY hard teacher. The class consists of 4 test, discussion board, and a paper. The test are VERY HARD and they are timed. Must be devoted!

Well he isn't the easy. You will have to read everything that he gives you because his test are hard. He does have a sense of humor but can be bland at times. Go to every class and read the assigned readings and you should do fine. Lots of info and not to bad of a teacher.

Great prof. No boring overheads or power points. He only writes key terms on the board, otherwise just talks to you as though you're having a conversation. Only 3 tests and NO homework. He assigns readings which aren't necessary to do well on the tests. As long as you pay attention in class, easy A.

People who don't like Stuart Susnick can't do the work. A high school is part of WCC college campus. High schoolers can take college level classes and many take Mr. Susnick's film class because they expect an easy grade. You are expected to write and study and learn about film, which Mr. Susnick respects and wants students to be enriched.

Worst teacher ever! Don't take this class with any others, because he makes you devote every waking hour to it. If you dont kiss his butt, he wont like you. If you ask for help, he basically tells you to bad! And good luck on the tests, you will need it!

Stuart is a good Prof. You are required to be a good student, it's as simple as that. If you can't read and listen well there will be problems. His 3 exam system is great if you take the "exchange running a study group and 2 A's, for a third, automatic A" offer. When finals come you will have already passed. With an A.

Susnick is a decent professor. Passionate about Politics. He does always go off on tangents, and then gets a little irritated when students ask questions about them, saying that we need to get back to the material. Learned a lot in his class. But there's only 3 exams, so make sure you study. Good class though.

HORRABLE TEACHER!! Needs to retire. He rants and raves like he is someone important. Very degrading to students, talks down to the class. the lectures were so dull; his monotone voice put me to sleep. A very depressing person. Do Not recommend to anyone!!
