Honestly shes a very nice person and would help you if you asked for it but her tests are extremely hard and she expects you to read everything assigned so if you don't like reading this isn't the class for you. Would not take her again.

First off very nice lady. There are a lot of quizzes; study prior to class and you should do fine. A couple papers which saved my grade along with a project. All tests she gives are impossible if you don't read and re-read and re-read and study. Very detailed questions which were BS I must say She knows her stuff just very hard class.

Im not an English person at all but I still got an A- in the class. Not too difficult of a paper grade and you can rewrite the two papers as well. Quizzes are quite simple, make sure you take some notes. The final was pretty hard and took a good amount of studying but nothing too bad.

She's the worst English professor I have ever had. Her reading assignments are outrageous. She thinks that you only have her class to focus on and no one elses. Avoid her at all costs. Take Belinski if you can. I'm telling you, do not sign up for her. Her lectures are boring, she gets mad at the class easily, she's a know it all. STAY AWAY!!

Starke is the best professor I have had at Monmouth. Yes, you read some novels that you have read in high school but she really goes in depth during the discussion and really makes you look at things another way. She is an extremely fair grader and she really does care about her students.

My favorite English teacher at Monmouth!!! Makes fridays at 8:30am surprisingly enjoyable! She's very passionate about the works read. I am roughing another TF 8:30 just to take her. Essay topics can be confusing but she is always able to help. Usually offers early classes so if your able to rough an 8:30, TAKE HER!!!

Starke was a awesome teacher. Although you will have a good amount of reading to do, it is easy. She is always willing to help and is a very happy person. If you read what she tells you too you will be golden. No midterm or final. There is only 4 essays. you pick hat they are about but muse use 2 readings. Very easy

I don't understand how anyone can have anything negative to say about Prof. Starke. My favorite professor at Monmouth, by far. Her class is interesting - you will learn A TON -- AND get an A. It's rare you find a class in which you learn so much and yet are not struggling to keep up.

Dr. Starke is a wonderful professor. I'm a pre-law major, and don't even need to take the Renaissance course that I'm in right now. I took it because she teaches it. Extremely fair, wonderfully intelligent, and never a mean word to say about anyone. I would gladly take more of her courses. Great professor, and worthy of Department Chair.

She is really nice but talking a lot. She wants people to participate but if no one will she wont call on people which is nice if you didnt read. ALl her books are on sparknotes which is saving me. She does give quizes in class for the reading but as long as you read sparknotes you should be good. She is much better than other english professors

This is the worst professor I have had at Monmouth. She is pompous and inconsiderate. Her comments during class are totally inappropriate and now that she is the Department Chair she looks down upon everyone else, including fellow professors. She knows her content too bad she does not know how to teach!
