This was the worst class i have ever taken and the only course in my entire major I didnt enjoy. Sue will say one thing and then completely do something else. She is tenure and doesnt care about u She is a extremely tough grader and gives some students special treatment over others. She lacks details and grades harshly. If you can avoid her do it

The tests can be difficult to remember all the theories, but Sue is an amazing professor that really helps students to better understand what is in the book. She is also ver flexible if you cannot make it to test days. Her online quizzes were tough.

NO ONE LIKES SPEECH CLASS - but with Sue, you will. Honestly one of the best profs I have ever had. She cares about each student as an individual, is energetic, always available to help & creates a super positive classroom environment. I would guess her negative ratings are from students who just didn't try. If you are dreading this gecr, take Sue.

One of the greatest teachers at Eastern. Gave such great examples that help you better understand what was in the book. She's there to help you and guide you through her classes. She will talk about the exams with you and allows you to justify your answers on the exams. She is even great to hang out with during office hours with all your questions!

Tons of reading but nothing too difficult. Can skim the books and still do okay. The papers were graded fairly easy but definitely learned a lot and actually enjoyed this class.

I love Sue. Her class wasn't easy, but she made it interesting and more importantly (to me) made it VERY clear what the students needed to do to get a good grade. Fun class, would definitely take her classes again.

Great prof! I?m not a Comm major but needed credits. Would?ve bored me to tears if it wasn?t for Sue?s zeal & humor. Amt of work minor. Tests multiple-choice & her Blkbrd study guides are 75% same as test. Final paper small 5 to 6 pgs. Expectations very clear. Easy to get 4.0! Plus doesn?t keep class all night long, only 2 to 3 hrs. A potluck too!

Sue is a great teacher! She is very animated when she lectures and keeps its interesting. She also lectures on material that will be helpful to us for when we get jobs. Her tests are easy if you use the blackboard study guide and the final is a breeze if you turn in a rough draft. I would recommend taking any of her classes.

Sue is fantastic! I took one of her undergrad classes to complete a minor in com. studies and loved it. I love her teaching style, she explains everything in a way that everyone can understand it. (The text is a little dry so her lectures are a lifeline.)

Sue is the best professor I have ever had at EWU, and I've been here for 4 1/2 years. She knows exactly how to explain things in order for us to understand the material. She has high expectations, but that only pushed me to work harder and get the most out of her class. Everyone is capable of an A and she will always works with you.

I took small group communication from Dr Stearns, and it was the most difficult course I've ever taken! I learned alot! I see alot of comments about Public Speaking-- that is a difficult course no matter WHO teaches it! However you are a college student in an upper level class.. BUCK UP!

I love Sue's personality and humor, it makes the class fun. However, when she teaches the material it's almost like we are expected to know everything and thinks of us as grad students. Way too much work is involved. When I took her class it would have been fine if it was my only class, but the amount of material we were expected to learn in a week before a test was crazy!! She would give us a list of 80 terms and expect us to know them all for the test in a week.

Dr. Sterns is VERY UNHELPFUL and has driven alot of students away from the department. She creates obsticles for her students rather than help them, and is a horrible liablty to the school. SHOULD BE AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS. Extremely difficult professor/chair.
