I am not even done with the class but I'm making this review for the people who are going to sign up for classes soon. Avoid this teacher and sign up before he is the last option. He does not know how to explain the material well. He talks about how to solve the problem and shows only a few examples on how to actually do it. I'm taking tutoring.

This class was a mistake. I work very hard in school and yes, math isn't my specialty. At first I thought he was going to be a good professor then he started speeding up on content. He only does content one certain way. As well his class is only an hour. So good luck if you take him cause you will have to rush on your exams and quizzes!

Please do not take this professor if you struggle with math! I attend class every day and take notes and study as Hard as I can. The tests are nothing like the material he teaches. And if your taking his class with other classes its the worst. Theirs a quiz every week, about 10 projects due, mymathlab,etc. I failed this class and dont reccomend.

Best math professor ever, and I have taken tons of math professors. He is always willing to help you during office hours. Test are easy if you study the material, is amazing how he explained everything in 1 hour. I would take him again. He drops one test.

Lectures the whole class, quizzes are given at random times. Talks down to you when you ask questions or do not understand what is going on in class. Exams are long and you do not have much time to complete them. I have never dropped a math class because I was failing until I took him.

I had Professor Smyrski for two semesters , Math 175 , and Math 283 (Calc 2). By far one of the best math teachers I had. Math is not my strongest subject , but he was always there for his students , you can catch him in all his office hours , and he will do all it takes to help you understand. His lectures are amazing, and his exams are fair.

This class, to me was hard. I felt the test were hard, and the fact that there was no study guide for any test or the final really didn't help. He gave us extra credit but the test were so hard to me, I really didn't have time to do them. I felt he expected us to know certain things. I think anyone taking this class should be prepared to study!

This professor was very confusing and is not very good at explaining the subject. Worst professor to take180, and he doesn't explain what he did to get the answer and many students would have to clarify that with him. Most students drop this class by Exam 2. he gives a lot of hw and quizzes. Not very helpful and does not makes his points clear.

I had him last semester and was reading the older review & i completely disagree. As long as you go to class and do you good on the quizes you should be fine. Quizes are short & on the material covered that week. He also doesnt mind stopping & letting you ask questions Hes also available outside of class If you do the work & pay attention youll pas

I wouldn't recommend taking this class with bunch of other classes, this teacher gives you a quiz once every week. Do the suggested homework and you will pass, he's suggested homework is like 30-50 problems on each chapter. Overall, I wouldn't recommend him. He is a nice guy but he doesn't know how to teach the material. However, good luck.

Please don't take math 180 or other higher math classes with this teacher. My GPA is 3.7 I have A's and because of his way of teaching and making the test I will fail this class. His test and quizes is completely different and there is no multiple choice or study guide. I am not the only one who is scoring low in class. Worst teacher in HFCC.

He always lets you know when there'll be a quiz. We had 11, and he dropped the lowest one. His lectures aren't the best, but you'll do fine if you do his suggested homework (which is a lot). Final exam is easy and replaces your lowest test score. If you need help, GET IT. His office hours are the best. Need to work for your grade. He's also funny.

Please. Please. Please. Do not take him. His exams are completely different than what he goes over in class. I got an E in this class and i had a 4.0 last semester. This class brought me down so much. I passed Anatomy and couldnt pass this class. The whole class failed two exams so he had to give us extra credit assignments. Thats how bad he is.

I struggle in Math and I made it clear to him and he didn't even try to help me. I don't like his teaching and I do NOT learn from his teaching. He has quizzes every week, I feel as if the online homework doesn't even matter. The quizzes and exams are important so if you don't do well your grade goes down. Do not take him if you struggle in Math !!

I love him. I love him so much! Seriously you guys. Freaking take this guy. I suck so badly in math and I told him about it and he made sure to help me (without putting me in the spot) every time I needed. He knew exactly when I was struggling. Don't be afraid to talk or approach him! He will go above and beyond for you. You rock Mr. Smyrski!

There aren't enough words to explain how incredible of a teacher mr. Smyrski is. Personally not being very good at math mr smyrski always found a way to make sure everyone understands he's very kind and a good teacher quizzes and tests are very similar to class notes there shouldn't be a reason why you don't pass this course try your best
