There are only two good strategies for a Shenoi class. Study the old tests and try to review ALL the material. He does his best to ask conceptual questions that are difficult to get right unless you understand the material. But surrounds these with test bank questions from old exams. Very hard classes typically (I've had 3 of his)

Dr.  Shenoi is an amazing professor and he really cares about his students.  He is incredibly brilliant and I learned a lot in his classes.  His classes are very difficult but interesting, and he is always available to help if you have a question.  He also has the best stories.

a fair assessment of Dr. Shenoi: He is very precise, and makes difficult concepts easy to understand, but he has the biggest attitude of any prof Ive met at TU. He's very rude, makes anyone he dosen't like feel like an idiot... if he dropped his attitude he would be a truly incredible prof. He can teach exceptionally well, but he's a real a$$

Shenoi is a GREAT professor! he works very hard and is very helpful. HIs lectures are great, too and his classes are interesting. he always takes calls from us even on Sundays and such.

Has a lecture style that is unbelievably annoying for me (has a tendency to repeat unimportant things and constantly derails my chain of thought with "Okay? Get it? Cool? Okay?") The best advice I received about him is this: don't stand out at all. Don't impress him but don't annoy him. He is, however, very, very qualified and knowledgeable.

His ego is so big and his helpfulness so small that it's best to avoid. Unfortunately, he has embedded himself in curriculum requirements that you can't. You can see through him so easily though - he's a phony.

Excellent professor, doesn't waste time on fluff, teaches CS as a science, etc. People who like to be spoon fed will complain, but scientists will enjoy his classes and learn ALOT.

Very unfair. Memorize the wording and you win. Never mind the meaning. He is not interested in your understanding only your ability to spit back what and how it was said. He grades papers overnight - how else could this be done unless you look for key phrases. He's been "teaching" the same material for 20+ years - that says something.

Dr. Shenoi is a good teacher. He knows his stuff. He can answer difficult questions about anything related to theory easily. He expects a lot out of his students, and can be (rightfully) disapointed in students who do not perform.
