His test and exam breakdowns are misleading, and do not fully reflect what was learned in the course. Most exam material came from lectures (which were one hour per week) instead of the plentiful of modules that were assigned. His lecturing style is very difficult to comprehend, as he does not articulate well. Material is decently interesting tho..

The breakdown of the course is different due to the past complaints from previous years. This year, the midterm was worth 25% while tutorial and a group project were worth 10 each, online quizzes in total added to 10% making the final exam 45%. This prof is passionate about what he teaches, you're going to be in trouble if you already hate cell Bio

I am thankful to have had this guy. Honestly. Explains well and marks fair. Might wanna watch out for the course coordinator Alison. She is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside if you catch my drift.

Not going to lie--yes, it's difficult IF you don't plan your time right and don't give time to absorb the information. The in-class lectures help put perspective on WHY we are learning this and he's really passionate about his work and wants to share his knowledge. Hang in there, give time and it'll be rewarding. MAKE CONCEPT MAPS-it HELPS!

Biology 2B03 was poorly organized - incomprehensible professor and TAs, pointless tutorials, and unethically tested (cumulative final exam worth 50%). My TA couldn't speak English, and we were taught tutorial content in less than 15 minutes, and were given in-tutorial quizzes that were contradictory to textbook material and made zero sense.

one midterm and one final exam, a few tutorial marks... overall a bad course set up. Prof is hard to understand, Tells us to watch modules that he has never watched made by previous profs. He tells us to study modules and lecture content and on the midterm he tests us on lecture content and textbook....

He is a great guy, knows what he is talking about. But the methods of testing was not fair I think. Yes the papers seemed usless at the time, but they came in handy for 3rd year. As for the midterms, could of tested on course materical. Final = no relation to course content. Just enzymes, molecules, or kinases...no application.

The structure he implemented was a massive failure. 20% based on writing papers on concepts loosely tied to the material, 20% based on memorizing hundreds of multiple choice questions and their answers - that the students created! And 60% on a final based on lecture material we had never been tested on before that was extremely nitpicky with detail

Never taking this prof again!! Very unfair way of testing our knowledge...we had two midterms, that were on very complex journal articles where we basically got 400 questions to memorize. Then the exam was 60%, on stuff never tested on during the term. And whoever wrote that comment about the students just being lazy is probably not a student.

Awful course, I regret taking it. Way too much workload (1000 word essay every other week) and the only time you're tested on lecture material is the final exam; all the midterms are based on 6 complicated journal articles you have to read and memorize. Probably one of the worst courses I've taken.

Don't be deceived by the previous comment. Dr. Igdoura wrote that. Igdoura doesn't structure his course well which makes it much more difficult for students. 40% of mark is for reviews barely related to course material. Other 60% is the exam. Cause of this the workload is very high since assignments dont contribute to exam study.

Terrible prof, mumbled to himself so you can't hear the last half of his sentences. The tests were based on review articles we had to summarize in tutorial and not on class material, while there was a 60% exam at the end. Not helpful towards students, even ignored one student who went to his office for help.
