Comment:
She gives a ridiculous amount of busy work, and then spends an hour and fifteen minutes trying to explain it in the most complicated way possible. Next, any written work that she has us write is graded extremely harshly, despite having made the changes to the paper that she recommended; probably because the advice she gives is totally incoherent.

Homework is due each class but they make the readings easier to follow. Papers are kind of annoying for reasons people have already said below, but overall a very pleasant teacher.

This class was extremely hard, in the sense that you would have her check your essays before you handed them in, she would correct anything she deemed incorrect, you would write exactly what she told you to make changes to, but then she would still give you a B at best; although you wrote what SHE TOLD YOU TO. Also you have homework for every class

must attend class and read before class. readings also have questions to answer which is time consuming and graded fairly hard. 4 essays that make up a big part of your grade. you can go in ahead of time and have her give you advice. nice that you never have in class essays or tests

Really disliked this professor. I am not a person who enjoys busy-work, and there was a fair amount of it every night. I became so annoyed with this that, even though she is a great teacher in-class, I could not enjoy it. TL;DR - AVOID IF YOU DISLIKE BUSY WORK

She is an excellent professor. no midterms or a final but she makes you learn your stuff. homework is due everyday at the beginning of class and it is based on the stuff you are going to learn on that day. I would definitely recommend her.

TAKE THIS CLASS! Attendance is mandatory and she doesn't let you turn in the homework if you miss, but she drops your 4 lowest homework grades, and they are all just completion. My first philosophy class ever and I LOVED it! No tests and quizzes, only short homeworks and a few fairly easy papers. She is very helpful with these if you ask

Brower-Toland is one of the best philosophy teachers i have ever had. Her class is fun and there are no tests. If you do the work you will do well in the class. She is extremely helpful and gives real life analogies to the information on hand.

This is one of the most human teachers you will ever see. She always forgets things and has all sorts of funny reasons analogies and jokes for life. Sometimes she can be quite boring too but as a personality she is great. Her classes are not too hard. As long as you do your work on time you are fine

she was better than dr. finch (they co-taught). pretty good lectures bc she explained readings in detail. you need to read before class tho bc she expects discussion. open to most comments. fairly easy grader as long as you followed directions. would recommend, but w/o dr. finch!
