Cayleff is absolutely amazing and while I enjoyed her lecture style it isn't for everyone as other reviews say. There's a lot of reading and I recommend only reading the novel you choose to do the essay on to maintain your sanity even though it's expected to read all of them. The outside of class opportunities are worth it if you have the time.

You need to keep up with each weeks reading, easy to do since they are super interesting. Bi-weekly quizzes, 1 movie review and a group project (for our final) and thats all in the grade book. If you read and listen in lecture, you'll get an A, she is amazing! highly recommend taking her class.

TOP TEACHER at SDSU, if you don't take at least two of her courses before you graduate you are surely missing out! Incredibly inspirational, hers is a class you will never be bored in, skillful lecturer and story teller. Uses real life examples during lectures and is a instructor that genuinely cares about her students and their learning outcomes.

I have taken both 341A and 341B and they were about the same. You do not need to buy any of the books. The class is 90% writing papers. The TA I had was a very easy grader. The class is super unorganized but most of it is common sense so you can get an A without taking notes. You need to go to class because attendance is taken every time.

I absolutely love Professor Cayleff, because she is so passionate about history and her students. She truly cares, and is incredibly knowledgeable on the subject material. She is also very understanding, flexible, and has not forgotten what it is like to be in college.

She's an old-fashioned history teacher, and by that, I mean it's oral history. There aren't any powerpoints so you need to be a good listener and take copious notes. You have to do a research paper or volunteer plus a reflective paper of the same length. I didn't really read the books and I got a passing grade on the final.

Very, very disorganized! does not grade herself, but trust her TA to do it. She seemed to have a good personality but bad in grading. she makes attendance a must only to chit chat about "how's your weekend" in class.

Prof. Cayleff makes her TA grade all the papers in class. Her class is very, very unclear and disorganized. She makes sure that attendance is a must just so that you will drag yourself through her class. i will make sure to never take any of her class again.

As interesting of a teacher Cayleff can be, she is VERY UNCLEAR. She rambles through her lecture, without out powerpoint, and without referencing the readings. I wish she was more organized and clear because she is very knowledgable.

Cayleff is a great professor, this was my favorite class. Attendance is mandatory, but her lectures are really fun to listen to. Take good notes and stay up to date with the readings. There's A LOT to read, but it's interesting. The papers really aren't that bad. Cayleff is wonderful, just be prepared for the workload.

Don't take this class! She is very disorganized and the ta grades hard! Too many readings and you have to attend every class in order to understand test material! This is not an easy a, but it is an interesting class!

Dr. Cayleff is definitely one of the BEST professors I have ever had at SDSU. Interesting, extremely knowledgable, and gives you the opportunity to do an internship for the class. Can't wait to take her 341A women in history class.

i love cayleff! shes so interesting. you can choose to do volunteer work instead of a final project which was great cus youre basically guaranteed an A. theres a couple papers which are graded by the TA. you don't really need to read aslong as you attend (attendance is necessary) and take good notes. im taking her next semester! :)

This was an online course over summer. There were discussion boards twice a week that were about 1000 words long each plus quizzes two times a week that included just as long, if not longer essay answers. She was overwhelmed with grading and did not grade the essays until the day grades were due so you never knew how you were doing. Frustrating.

Cayleff seems like a helpful professor, but in her online course directions are way too descriptive to the point students were always confused. Lots of course work and lots to learn, which isn't a bad thing, but a lot of it seemed unnecessary. Assignments took way too long and they seemed never ending.

GREAT professor, interesting topic, but be prepared to work. A couple essays, and required reading in order to pass the exam at the end of the semester. Required community involvement, but the class is so great it seems worth it. A little confusion with grading and slightly frustrating disorganization, but she is a AMAZING woman and professor.

Awesome teacher, she's really great, BUT: Do not take this class if you are looking for something easy! LOTS of reading, papers for EVERYTHING, lots of outside class activities you must attend. Don't take this class if you aren't ready to make this class your whole life this semester.

6 papers or less. Just do well on the reports and your set. Put a lot of your own analysis and evidence. Just sound convincing and straight forward. Easy A.
