Just reads off the slides every class and looks up answers in her notes. Tests are extremely hard with trick questions, and class averages are typically Ds and Fs with the curve. This isn't 380 either, these are all FIN majors. Class is very boring and there is homework due at the beginning of EVERY class which felt like high school all over again.

FIN 390 is a hard class and it is supposed to be that way. She does everything in her power to prepare you for the exams and can help you through any of your problems. She even gives extra credit on the exams and sets a curve.

She gives logical and clear lectures and extra credit. participation does matter or you will lost. And you can bring a piece of formula sheet during the exam. Just need to listen to her carefully and do homework on your own, you will be fine.

Dr. Crain is an excellent professor. Although the class is one of the toughest classes I've taken, she takes time to answer questions and do many examples in class. Tests are difficult but you get a note sheet to help you out. She will answer all emails and help you with homework. The class will require a lot of time and effort, but it is doable.

As a finance major, Susan Crain has been one of the best teachers I've had in the FGB department. The course material is hard, but she provides an ample amount of resources to figure what the solutions are.

Dr. Crain is a great teacher. She knows her stuff, and is willing to expand on topics to relate them to real-world finance examples. This is not an easy class. If you thought FIN 380 was hard, you're going to have a bad time. She is very up front about her expectations and curves the tests a little bit. There's homework everyday which can be tough.

Took her online and it was the worst class I've taken at MSU by far. She records lectures which would be helpful but it takes her 2.5 hours to discuss 6 problems. She spends so much time talking about and explaining random things that aren't necessary. Avoid her at all costs if possible there are so many better finance teachers at MSU.

Dr. Crain is an excellent professor, but FIN390 was the hardest class I've ever taken. I put 20+ hours a week into it watching lectures, doing homework, meeting with her, and studying for tests, and I still only managed a C in the class. My grades in other classes fell due to the time commitment of FIN390. This class wrecked my GPA.

She keeps saying that her class is tough. My understanding is that she doesnt know it enough to explain it well. She cannot answer many questions students ask her and she dislikes those students who ask questions. It seemed that she likes male students more than female. Her intention seemed to be to make students hate the class and quit finance.

People tend to not like her just because it is a tough class! She was very straight forward about what was going to be on the tests. GO TO CLASS! She shows you every type of calculation that will be on the tests- no surprises. HW is hard!! but thats cuz you have resources to figure it out. Test questions come straight from powerpoints.

Hardest class I've had at MSU. Very difficult tests are killer. However, Crain is one of the nicest and most understanding professors out there and I have a lot of respect for her due to that fact.

390 is a huge leap from 380 in difficulty. Dr. Crain is a good teacher and very helpful. You will have homework assigned almost every period and it is very close to what will be on the test. The tests are HARD, our class average was around 60% but she gives bonus of around 10% of each test to make up for it. I liked her but the class itself is hard

Class is hard. Expect time consuming homework every class period. I didn't think she was a bad teacher, her tests are just really hard. She gave us a test "redo" each time that bumped my tests up a letter grade. You need to go to class, her notes by themselves aren't good enough to study for the tests. You'll learn a lot though!
