I took myths and theories of writing with her and the course really blew my mind. She knows so much and really kicked me in the butt (in a good way) when I walked into the class thinking I already knew everything there was to writing.

I had Dr. Drain for Victorian Literature. Attendance in mandatory and even gives extra credit when you are there for the last class before spring break or a long weekend. She is a tough marker but gives specific feedback. My one regret is not weighting my creative project higher (at the beginning of the semester, you weight your assignments).

Dr Drain is a tough prof and she makes you work for your grade. I found her lectures engaging and the assignments straight-forward but tough. If you don't have the time to devote to this class I'd stay away or expect a lower grade but I'd take a class from her again in an instant.

What I thought would be an interesting subject turned out not to be. Dr Drain wasn't always specific in what she wanted especially with assignments. She does have a passion for her subject, but just didn't present it with an alluring fashion.

Dr. Drain is my favorite professor at MSVU. She is really nice and always helpful. I have learned so much about writing from her. She enjoys what she teaches and knows a lot about it. Fair marker. Very approachable. Interesting material. Gives helpful feedback on assignments. Work hard and you'll do fine. Great professor!

Clearly this Professor knows what she is talking about , but has such an enormous ego that it over shadows her expertise .She fancies herself to have a democratic teaching style but if you want to get ahead in this class do not oppose her views .The potential of this writing course dies a premature death.Worst Professor ever ,what a waste of money.

Dr. Drain is one of the sweetest profs I have come across. At first she seems a bit cold but after you get to know her she is a sweet woman. You have to work hard for a good grade in her class and the assignments are very challenging. I would recommend her though!
